Filed to ESPN: Arizona will sign WR Larry Fitzgerald to a record 8-year, $120 million deal that includes close to $50 million guaranteed.

    Woah ... Huge Dollars ..

That is an insane amount of money to pay to a non-QB.

The Titans must be shitting themselves. With Chris Johnson wanting to be paid as "a playmaker", not a RB, this contract is going to do serious damage to negotiations between the two sides.

As far as Arizona, I can't see how the hell this is structured to not be a shitfest. 50 million guaranteed, and he's got 7 million left on this deal. If they tear that up, maybe he gets 60 million over the first 5 years and never sees the last 3. Given what must be a fat SB, though, 3 years of potential dead money seems incredibly unlikely. If it's 120 million in NEW money on top of his pre-existing contract, that's even crazier and more difficult to manage.

Either way, thank God they waited until after we signed Holmes to drop this monstrosity on the league.

This makes sence from a fans perspective, because those Cardinals fans would be gone if Fitz left. But from a Cap perspective this is pure insanity.

Fitz is great but not worth this much. I wonder what other recievers like Andre Johnson are thinking their value is worth right now?

Which averages out to an average of $17M per season. Its a massive commitment from the Cards, and includes toughly $47M in guaranteed money

It doesn't matter what Andre Johnson is thinking his value is worth. He got his career-end contract last year.

We don't know what it's like from a cap perspective yet, but we know Arizona had more than $13 million in space this year. I'd guess he hits for almost $12 million, has 4 years of similar hits, and then escalates into 2-3 years he'll probably never see.

Its good to have a great reciever locked up for years, but whos gonna chuck it to him? Hopefully Kolb works out for them.

Wait...how does $120 million over 8 years average out to $17M per season? The only way that works is if it's $120 million in new money over the next 7 years without touching this year's salary, which would be insane.

The NFL is going to be like a woman with DD's ...top heavy. I do not know how GM's are going to be able to structure teams with players making that kind of stupid money.

I am so so so happy all of our elite players are signed to long term deals... this contract is crazy (and I love Fitzgerald).

That contract makes sense to keep the best WR in the NFL in Arizona.

This just exploded the WR market the same way Aso's contract with the raiders inflated it for DBs

The rest of the league has to pay because of another team's stupidity

Next year is going to be Calvin Johnson's walk year. If Matthew Stafford can stay healthy and Megatron puts up the numbers everyone knows he can (think Randy Moss in his prime), the Lions are going to have a serious problem on their hands.

Both are great. Hard to say who is better. I normally only watch both when they play Revis and they look like a couple of slouches to me.

I tend to just throw Larry, AJ and CJ into one lump. Those three are the tops in the league and you can easily argue one over the other.

INSANE contract for a wideout, no matter how good he is. This was as much a PR move in the desert as a football move.
