And draft picks who develop do have some value because (a) you have negotiating exclusvity before their rookie contracts are up, so you can sometimes lock them up long term, and (b) you can franchise them if they're really really good. But in general, a high draft pick who can't start until the last year of his rookie deal just isn't a good pick.
I didn't say that. If Kyle Wilson is a starting quality corner for the rest of his contract then he's a great pick even if he's not technically a starter. Nickelbacks and third wideouts might not be "starters" generally play so much they might as well be.

Whether or not they are head and shoulders above him, which they are because they are currently more talented, is the KEY reason why he didn't win out on the competitions.

ive been high on him before the draft and was ecstatic when we drafted him heres a novel idea for someone with his lack of experience. give him one position and let him learn it. i love how the solution to someone whos visibly confused on the field is to switch his position numerous times. anyways, he will be good i expect him to silence critics by next yr. its been said but i think him missing this offseason is exactly why he looks like he did last yr. isnt that funny how the project without an offseason looks the same at the beginning of his 2nd yr. You didn't watch the tape. I did. I'll throw another fish to the sharks: His RT tape. And only his RT tape - there are two snaps he needs to have back. One is the McElroy cadence change which made him look atrocious but isn't his fault for the QB not telling the whole line whats going on. And one pressure he gave up on a nice spin move, GMac still got rid of the football. That's it. Other than that his run blocking was solid and so were the rest of the pass protection snaps. Tape doesn't lie. If the tape was worse I'd be screaming for his head like everyone else. Its not as bad as it seems.
