Yeah, that about covers it. Keller is definitely a factor here, allowing MS to go to a proven option until he gets up to speed with Burress. I am assuming Mason is getting reps in with MS, so even if Burress is not where we would like to be as of Opening Day, MS will have Holmes, Keller, LT out of the backfield, and most likely Mason all up to speed on Opening Day. Burress may take some longer time, but it's not a make or break deal.
Only this asshole would put it like this. RichCimini Rich Cimini Rex Ryan says Burress absence is personal and excused. Guess is court related. Already back, will pract limited this afternoon. #Jets
Coach Rex Ryan admitted that Plaxico Burress' ankle swelled up on Monday and Tuesday. Burress' ankle tweak is still considered minor, but he's not recovering at a rapid rate. After going through team drills for the first time on Sunday, the ankle was too sore to work on. Burress should be back in a limited practice this afternoon and is tentatively expected to play in the preseason opener, but nagging injuries figure to be the norm for a 34-year-old who hasn't played since 2008. Gimmie a break,, when the heck is this guy gonna be healthy enough to play.
Well, that sucks. I was hoping he'd be able to play Monday so he could work more with Sanchez. On the plus side, it means more time for Kerley. I really think we'll see some 3 wide sets with Holmes and Mason outside and Kerley in the slot this season.
Looks like they're being extra careful with him. He should be good to go for the second and third preseason games.
we have a fucking month. you want rex to throw this guy out there monday night, and get seriously hurt?
Thirded? Every time i see a post from #28Martin i get up and take down the monitor i'm going to read it on and take a giant shit on it. Figure i might as well do it before his post does. @#28Martin Lurk moar
Burress won't play in season opener. Queue #28Martin's rant on how this guy is a waste, then he jumps out window.
Brandon Moore is recovering from hip surgery. I think we should just play him Monday the entire game. Sanchez isnt elite yet. Let's play him the entire preseason game, guys.
Coach Rex Ryan has ruled out Plaxico Burress (ankle) for the Jets' preseason opener. Ryan curiously speculated that the "altitude" from flying might aggravate Plax's troublesome ankle, and he claims Burress will be back at 100 percent by next Wednesday. Burress' age and history of ankle problems are reasons we won't get our hopes up from a fantasy perspective. The Jets' actions also speak loud: Derrick Mason was signed in large part as insurance for Plaxico.
