Defense is ALWAYS ahead of the offense. They literally just got into pads, and started these 2 minute drills. There is absolutely nothing to worry about.
I like Sanchez as much as anyone here but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about his chemistry and timing with new receivers. Hopefully they iron out the wrinkles and get the offense clicking. Can't afford to come out like they did aganist the Ravens int he opener last year.
Not to mention that we have no idea how Sanchez is approaching these drills. How many passes is he throwing at Revis? Any more than one is more than a sane qb would throw in a real game. I think it's good if he is taking shots at Revis right now, he is getting great practice trying to fit the ball in the tightest of windows. Really nothing to be worried about, it's practice.
This is great news, the defense is always behind the offense in the beginning of camp. This bodes well.............Sanchez should know his Wr's by now with that one camp.
Unless of course Jonathan Joseph takes Sanchez's first pass of the pre-season back for a TD, then we should all panic.
I agree that in his 3rd year, it's put up or shut up time for Sanchez and the offense. He should be a strength on this team and should not be coddled. No excuses. I'm not worrying this early in camp though - It's too soon.
There isn't a QB in the NFL that would look good versus our defense in week one of training camp. I will go one better, there won't be one QB that looks good versus our defense during the whole year. We may lose a few games, but you won't be able to place the losses squarely on the defense. Parcells would say the job of the defense is to keep the opponent from scoring more than 20 points and the job of the offense is to score at least 21 points. If our team gives up 21 or more points in 4 or more games this year I would be shocked. The only reason I am going even that high is because the defense can't help if the other team scores with their ST or defense. Thus, not putting blame squarely on our defense.
Awesome, Abyz. I'm not worried, but at the same time I'm not expecting Sanchez and his receivers to light it up this season.
As others have noted, the defense is usually ahead of the offense early this early on. Offenses will come around. I was at Pats Camp this weekend and the defense had the edge. While others may disagree, I think the Sanchez passing camps will help in the passing game.
I am slightly worried about it, but then again it is really difficult to tell because our defense is so good. Plus my friend loves the Packers and says that Aaron Rodgers has been throwing lots of picks as well, so maybe there is nothing to worry about? We shall see. Can't make excuses for Sanchez this year as it is his third season.
People need to realize that Derrick Mason is almost a HOFer. He's been that consistent. He's the ultimate safety net for a QB. Being the #3 checkdown WR for Sanchez is going to help him immensely.
What I was referencing are his statlines in the 11 on 11s sunday - 5 for 16 monday - 7 for 15 INT tuesday - 7 for 19 INT TD obviously the offense needs time and the defense is probably tremendous but i'd like to see him go above 50% completion
