I just like how they are obsessing over us, while we continue to worry about our own team.

As Jets fans we know how annoying it is to see your team constantly reacting to the moves and success of a division rival. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Not to worry, they will puff themselves back up when their team trades for a corner back that may be able to cover the slot well at least a third of the time.

Chris Carter still isn't in. How can you think Derrick Mason will get in?

nodody thought derrick mason would "get in". Again - the operative phrase was "potential hofers".

Cliff Branch should have been in the HOF Years ago and its outrageous that he isn't. Cliff is still a potential hofer.

Chris Carter will absolutely be in sooner than later. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get in for the next HOF class

on the Mason to the HOF debate... I feel like, compiler or not, it will be hard to keep him out. If he catches 31 passes for us this year (assuming Randy moss doesnt play another snap) he will be 8th on the all time receptions list. I feel like that would be hard to keep him out in the long run. Yeah he won't be a first ballot, but an eventual kinda guy.

Chris Carter and Tim Brown should be in without a doubt. Carter I would think gets in next year with Curtis and Tim shouldnt be much longer....

I wasn't sold on Mason, but after chasing down some highlight reels like the one below, wow - If he can perform like this when his number is called we've got a significant upgrade - Cotchery was a clutch 3rd down guy but I can't recall him winning a lot of position battles against db's like it seems Mason can, maybe my memory is flawed but cotch was always doing it with great hands and his quicks in and out of breaks against the 3rd db

Per Rotoworld, Mason is playing for the same vet minimum ($910,000) that Ellis turned down.

"Derrick Mason's contract with the Jets is for the veteran's minimum of $910,000.
Although the deal is guaranteed, it speaks to the fact of how far Mason's play slipped last season and why the Ravens were willing to release in hopes of bringing him back at a lower salary. He's going to break camp with the Jets, but there aren't many other guarantees that can be made as Mason enters his age-37 campaign.

Based on his numbers alone from 2010 season, he deserves more than vet minimum.

    61 rec 802 yards.

    Rotoworld is being retarded again.

Yesterday I was 37. All you youngsters, trust me its as old as it sounds. Its hard to describe to someone in their 20s how long it takes to recover from the slightest pain. You no longer feel invincible because it takes weeks to recover from a tweaked ankle instead of days. You wake up a lot more with random pains that you can't figure out where they are from.

That said, I'm not much slower than I was and I actually have more endurance. Its just getting hit / hurt sucks a whole lot more. Maybe if you take a super durable player in their late 30s; he is a bargain because he's basically made a long career out of playing with pain.

I really like this signing and I'm excited. Now I'm gonna go take a nap before dinner at 5:30.

Just going out on a limb here, but Derrick Mason is probably in better shape than you are.

Does Mason have more in the tank than J-Co or Braylon? He's a rental nothing more, nothing less so don't look for alot here. We already have LT for 3rds so where does Mason fit in Schotty's grand scheme? This is one offseason where we could have done better but fck it, it is what it is..
