Cimini wrote on twitter earlier today that he prefers the Jets duo of Santonio Holmes and Antonio Cromartie to the potential duo of Braylon Edwards and Nnamdi Asomugha. Agree? I'm personally undecided but I think it makes for an interesting discussion.
This is both a dumb question and a false choice. The answer however is obviously Nnamdi and Braylon however. That just wasn't on the table...
This... is a fucking stupid poll. I tried to think of a nicer way to put it, but there really isn't one. We did not have a choice of Holems and Cro or Braylon and Nnamdi. The Fact that Cimini put it forawrd like that is all you need to know about it. A Hack makes up shit when he has nothing else to write about. We choose Holems of Edwards, Nnamdi choose the Egales over us. Having him and Edwars as a choice was never an option. He simply like the Egales chances better. He left money on the table to go there, so its not as if a little more from us would have swayed it.
Lol, chill dudes. I never said this was ever a choice our organization actually had to make, so pointing out that it is a "false choice" is simply unnecessary. This is purely a hypothetical question to have some fun with on a slow news day. k?
I'm not Cimini's biggest fan but he wasn't making anything up here. He was responding to a fan who framed the question in these precisely predefined terms. I simply took his response out of context to make (what I thought) was an interesting hypothetical question for the board to have some fun with. That's all.
Not saying its your fault about the poll or question, but that or favoirte salndering hack reporter is simply at it again. If he based this off a fan question, its just as bad to me. If he has no other story for the camp off day just taking a fan question and writing about it is lazy. I don't find it interesting to imagine about a what if that was never possible. What if Doug Brien made those kicks, what if Chad never got hurt, what if Herm had any sense of clock managemnt? Who gives a shit, because all of those things never happened and it is what it is, just like we never had a shot at having Nnamdi and anyone. If it would have happened it would have been Nnamdi and Holmes, which would have been just fucking awsome, but its not to be, so screw it.
Actually this is a good poll question and I'm sure Tanny/Rex had the same conversation over and over. Had we signed Braylon and let Santonio walk, we would have had more than enough money to get Aso. We could of easily had either combination. At least we know how Tanny/Rex answered the poll question.
fair enough. But basically some guy asked Cimini why the Jets didn't sign Nnamdi and Braylon instead of Santonio and Cro (which, of course, didn't make sense because it was never an actual choice our FO had to make) and Cimini politely ignored that the question didn't make any sense and gave his opinion pretty emphatically that the Duo the Jets have was the superior of the two. I guess I find hypothetical questions like this interesting because I have always found that facts and reality can often be very misleading while rumors and hypothetical thought experiments can be very revealing as to how why think and why we think as we do.
A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself. Douche usually refers to vaginal irrigation, the rinsing of the vagina, but it can also refer to the rinsing of any body cavity. A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching—a bag for holding the fluid used in douching. To avoid transferring intestinal bacteria into the vagina, the same bag must not be used for an enema and a vaginal douche.
Santonio is far more talented then Braylon even though I love Braylon. Cromartie has a year in the system and is much younger then Aso so with the years on the contract we gave him I have to feel we got the better pairing.
This is a more accurate assessment. Looking at the way things happend I believe Cotch was going to be a cap casualty all along, so I don't think this could've been avoided. But it is more like: Santonio+Braylon or Santonio+Plax+Mason
Good question wrong choices The real duo is Revis and Holmes not Cromartie with Holmes. When you put it like that then ofcourse the jets come off the big winner. So plz REVISe the poll thanks
When you look at the total picture, you could have: Edwards, ASO, Plax or Holmes, CRO, Plax one of these two choices seems more like it to me, the money is probably pretty close at the end of the day, not saying wich one is better..... Edwards is not aas good as Holmes overall and Cro is not as good as Aso overall so at the end it seems like a push to me.
Who's to say that Asomugha ever wanted to be a Jet - even if they offered 2 million more than the Eagles? Maybe he had already talked to Mike Vick and his mind was made up? This theoretical proposition is just that. I don't think the Jets ever had to option of making this happen but if they did have this option I think the difference between Asomugha and Cromartie is bigger than the difference between Homes and Edwards - but the Jets might not see it that way. Cromartie does'nt want to play the run and tackle - that might be the main difference here.
Jets probably offered the same they gave Revis. If they offered him more they would have a problem with Revis, who has held out twice already. If that was the case, Aso went for the offer that was three million dollars more. Who can blame him? Lot of money. So it's not an issue of who would we rather have. Dude made his choice and it wasn't us. Cromartie is a fine player who got better as the season went on. I would have liked Braylon on the team. He had a good year, but it's not like his numbers jump out at you. Plax can give us 7 TDs easy.
So the choice really was: Holmes + Aso + pissed off Revis hold out in 2012 or Holmes + Cromartie + Burress + Mason + Pool + maybe Ellis
