i agree.if mason doesn't sign we can probably get by platooning the slot with lt, mcknight and kerley.if turner shows some progression it wouldn't be to bad of a wr corps.
Yeah but those are scraps and cost nothing, plus they have to cut people at that point to make room so it's usually a wash. They have serious cash, maybe 10 mil. that's more then late camp pickups.
Can't help agreeing. Mason has put up more significant numbers than has JC over the past few years. JC, as much as a team player as he was, was never statistically dominant or a leader-of-the-pack. Esp. since I saw it in person, I will always remember JC for his own version of "The Catch" @ Cleveland last year. Wow. Along w/ Brad Smith, I wish him the best. I wonder what type of year Braylon will have as A. Smith as his QB... I don't foresee a whole lot of ESPN highlights...
That approach seems to be working considering the roster continues to improve, they def need to offer Ellis more for DL depth though (and keep him away from the PATS!)
If Mason hasn't signed by now, he's not gonna sign here. Haven't we learned anything from the Aso debacle?
Relax. He is spending the weekend with his family in Nashville. He will decide between Jets, Ravens and Titans. I expect him to be in camp by Monday. He has some bad feelings towards the Ravens for cutting him after he personally organized the Ravens workouts during the lockout and paid from his own pocket. This is why the Ravens have to offer more $.
It certainly does. Besides that, there's a certain amount of pressure just playing in the TriState area and alot of guys just don't want to put themselves thru the meat grinder that is the NY/NJ media circus. This episode is beginning to remind me of the Art Monk/Ronnie Lott era of Jet FA signings. Splashy with minimal effect on the field.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...veteran-wr-mason-to-decide-new-team-this-week This article says he will choose a "New" team this week. The Titans and Ravens are his old teams, must mean the Jets right? Haha.
