It's a process,,, we're going thru the process of the process... Yeah, we really want Shaun and Mason,,,,we've shown that to them with our offers of the league minimum.

Talking about the extra salary cap ... asking if we have any projects.

Tannenbaum insinuated that they might be working on a couple of things, but said nothing was imminent.

Would not confirm if they made Mason an offer or not.

He is making it sound like they are waiting for teams to start cutting cap ... i think they are expecting a few certain players to come free. (i stress that is my take on what he said).

He is disputing Tuckers insistance of a depth issue. Running through a list of our younger players.

On Cotchery ... great person - he did ask to be released. Will do well where ever he lands. Was difficult to decide to let him go, but didn't want to restrict him. He EARNED it.

Here is a tidbit for you all - since Woody took over the team in 2000 ... the NY Jets have had the fewest players on IR in the entire league.

On Plax's ankle .... its just caution. Ankle is fine. He will help us from day one and will get better as the season goes along.

Says if you told him ten days ago the roster would look as it does now - he would have signed up immediately. I think they are supprised they got a few of the guys back. Says Nmandi is a great player, but they got Poole, Cro, Strickland etc ... he is more than happy.

About Braylon leaving ... wasn't that they didn't want him, but it was economics.

Cromartie is up .... lots of suitors, but Jets was where he wanted to be & gave him the best chance to win.

Understands why the Jets went after Nmandi - and said he and the team had a mutual agreement that he would check the market out first.

He thinks his season was only okay ... says he is capable of MUCH MORE. He sounds focused & motivated.

Says he had poor technique at times & tried to rely on his athleticism. Tucker said ability wise Cro should be #1 in the league if he was more consistant & Cro agreed ... says it is on himself. (getting a bit excited listening to him)

Said he wants other teams to throw at him even more ....

Thinks physically he could do better - as far as being aggressive and tackling supporting run game. Said he grades himself as sub par in that area.

Cro talking up Kyle Wilson ... says he expects big things.

He Wilkerson is showing BIG things ... says he is opening eyes. Bent Brick over backwards on one play.

Kendrick - hard worker ... sounds like he has more to learn, but he is motivated & putting in the work.

About Kerley .... He is LEGIT ... a little waterbug. Potential to be a good slot guy.

Cro and Revis looking forward to banging with Plax in practice.

Cro is with Bart ... LOVES 2 a days. Says he needs the physical part.

Big Wood is up .... says he is done, but Tucker asked him if Rex calls week 4 would he come back. He hesitated, but said yes he is done.

Really embracing being a part of the media. Said he accomplished everything he wanted to do in his career.

Will sit on the sidelines and cheer for the Jets. Says he expects Hunter to do good.

On Ducasse - he has to be ready to go. It is his time. A little raw, but he has to go in and make it happen if needed. Said last year game was just to fast for him. He really hasn't played for long - so he had to adjust. OTA's would have been really beneficial for him.

Regarding the backup TE situation (Ross can't let that go) ..... Big Wood is really high on Cumberland ... a real athlete .. can run like a deer. Last year got redshirted. This year they are going to utilize him and Mulligan more.

Woody thinks Greene is ready to bust loose .. has learned from Thomas Jones and LT ... said he is a definite pickup for fantasy football.

Until he sees Plax produce ... he is an unkown.

Says it remains to be seen if Mason would be better than Cotchery. Doesn't know Mason personally - but hears he is a real pro.

Says alot of people look good on the first day of practice .... says "come talk to me next week when people are tired"

Says Brick verses Wilkerson looks like two trees going at each other ...

Woody says while he is a big proponent of the ground n pound, but its time to let Mark go ... he is ready.

He says until the Jets win the division ... NE is the favorite.

Give me one legit reason why these two players should make more than vet min?

And don't give me "Ellis is the longest tenured Jet" or any other emotional bullshit.

Talking about the UDFA ... they grabbed some guys they had target for the draft. Very excited about them.

Just rehashing similar info that Tannenbaum did regarding the signings.

If veteran contracts work the way I remember it, offering him 200k more makes a big difference under the cap. Minimum salary experienced guys make 800-900 thousand a year but only count about 525 under the cap, but if you bump up their salary to 1.1 then I think all of it counts under the cap; in other words a 200k salary increase might lead to a 600k cap hit increase.

Now if we can get the downers to shut up ...

Mike Pettine is up: VERY HAPPY TO BE COACHING AGAIN

Goals: Be ready for the opener (no shit!) ... make sure starters are where they need to be ... as well as bringing the rookies/young guys along to the point where they can contribute.

Says everybody came back in shape ... they tweaked the playbooks a little, and tooks some things out.

Says the young DL guys have acclimated and have grabbed onto Devito and Dixon (like hearing this about Dixon) ... both Big Mo and Kendrick are going to be great pros.

Says while they have to stick to what they do well, they do need to change things up to keep offenses off balance. Admits it is a copy cat league and not ashamed to "steal" whats working elsewhere.

Expectactions on Cromartie: he was a work in progress a year ago .... says when he did things right he didn't give up a single completion (jamming the reciever) they made a cut-up of it and Cro will study it.

Wilson really took care of business in the offseason .. you can tell he is ready to go .. very excited.

David Harris is a rock. As steady ... even keeled as you can be. When the dust settles David grades out at 95%+

They are getting ready for practice to start .... Tucker sounds like he will be keeping an eye on Jeff Cumberland due to Damien Woody giving him a ringing endorsment.

Both Shein and Tucker saying they would have kept Cotchery around until a replacement was in house.

Saying Mason will have to take less to come to the Jets ... as Cro said he did.

Tucker saying Cotchery and Mason are each probably taking it too personally with their old teams .... saying its business and they should have been happy where they were. (suprising comment to be honest)
