its 8pm and i just read from nfl.com that mason is undecided on joining the jets what a terrible turn of events----listening to espn radio and wfan it seemed it was just a formality that he would sign----if he turns his back on the jets the entire organization will have done a terrible thing in cutting cotchery without an agreement edwards signed a 1 yr 3.5m with sf---according to profootballtalk.com the jets are 8m under the cap there's going to be a lot of splaining to do if mason walks away
Guys, you should know by now that I like giving horrible thread starters a hard time. I shouldn't have to splain myself to you two.
This isn't a terrible turn of events. Just because Jerricho Cotchery was well liked by a lot of fans doesn't mean the franchise should have to pay a fourth option the passing game millions of dollars. Derrick Mason coming in had nothing to do with what happened with Cotchery. It would be a solid fill though. Cotchery asked to be traded or released. Rex and Sanchez both said they wanted him to stay - he wanted to leave. This a solid move for the future of this franchise.
i dont think the jets would have cut cotchery without a assurance on mason prolly working out the fine details
RichCimini Rich Cimini Appears to be a couple of other tms in the running for Derrick Mason. Rex Ryan said, "I'd like to have Derrick, there's no question." #Jets
Wonder if they would make another move if he didn't sign here. Going into the year they would start Holmes and Burress with Kerley in the slot Turner as the 4 and McKnight rounding it out. Also, if he does sign do the Jets keep 6 WRs or is there an odd man out (I am guessing Turner)?
Yeah I know.... We should all bow down to a couple of people who just insult and pretend they know more then they do....
It is cool. There's no reason to panic over such a minor transaction. Cotchery asked to leave. Both Mark Sanchez and Rex Ryan wanted him to remain a New York Jet, but he didn't want to be here. There's no place on this team for guys that don't want to play here. He was the fourth or fifth option in our passing game, which is probably why he wanted to move on and play for another team. As a person, I don't think he's replaceable because he was a class act. ...but his production can easily be replaced.
We didn't need another Derrick Mason thread. Why should I give a god damn about what a bandwagon fan is wondering about?
I hope he does sign or we are looking at trades to improve the WR position as there is practically nothing left in terms of free agents.
You know what it is, joking aside? And I know you disagree with this, but it just seems that they show now loyalty to any of the vets.... And i'm not saying they should overpay.
You're no better than the ones you argue with and incite. You really are a boderline troll who has a very short lease.
