No one is going to be criticized for not wanting to see Cotchery go. It's a perfectly understandable emotion. The thing that people have a problem with is willful and bitter ignorance that's thrown in people's faces in an aggressive and hostile manner.

I really liked Jericho but in this day and age you can never get attached to any player. Good luck to you Jericho where ever you land.

All the reporters are saying how weird and strange this all sounds

Mason wasn't the reason he was released, he asked for it. Very odd..

Manish saying the same thing about Rex. It was Cotchery who pushed for a trade or release, and Rex says he has seen it coming for awhile. He tried to talk him out of it but no dice. So Cotch was pushing for this and the Jets obliged. Weird deal.

Ha.... I loved him sometimes. When he didn't see the safety vs. Buffalo in the playoffs I didn't love him that day.

I hated that game. Freakin Bruce Harper fumbles the opening kickoff and they're losing 7-0 before the game even started... And Todd was unbelievable that game,,, and then ruined it with that last pass. That was his problem. He far too many times misread a coverage and hit a wide open defender.

Cotch said a few days ago he was asked to take a paycut and he refused. He said he has done enough for the team in the past. Cimini said today that Cotchery asked to be released or traded and that Rex tried to talk him into staying but he was unable to do it.

It appears it was about money and then pride.

Wonder if J-Co has personal issues.

I read it like this: Cotchery was a starting WR on this team, and for the second season, the team has gone out and got yet another guy to be a starter and relegated Cotch to being a role player starting games on the bench. I don't think that qualifies Cotchery as a malcontent or a diva, he never opened his mouth about it publicly, but I'm starting to think he's been frustrated over not being a starter. And credit to him, he still never said anything, and most likely never will.

He might have just found out that he's the father of 9 children, not Cromartie.

    Cromartie's reaction:

That play was the most depressed I have ever been watching the Jets. That game. That play. I'll never forget it...and never quite got over it. But I still always loved Todd! My favorite of all time.

Yeah, his personal issues are that Tanny and Rex made it known that they were gonna pull an Ellis on him and offer him some BS for his years of service, so he got sour and asked to be cut. That's the story.

Anyone going retract their statements about how the front office sucks etc?

Cotch asked to be traded, and then released. The FO wanted him to stay.

Once again 90% of the people on this board overreact as soon as something happens.

Cotch thinks he is a no. 1/2 WR, not the no.3. I'm sorry but he is not a starting WR on 50% of the teams out there.

What killed me about that play was that the Jets were better then Buffalo and Todd played as well as he could play in that second half. I agree with ya. Most Jet fans when they think of Todd, automatically think of that mud bowl game but to me, this game was more heartbreaking, only because I felt the mud bowl game, was elements driven.

He was a backup receiver, what should they have done?

Apparently Sanchez tried to talk Jericho out of leaving, but couldn't convince him......J-Co wanted out.
