I hope he goes to SD, he can play w/ a great #s QB in a nice City for a good team and he'll be able to come back to some cheers when SD comes to the meadowlands.

I loved Cotchery and, even coming off an injury, I think he could offer a lot to this team. Oh well, that's why the FO gets paid the big bucks to make the decision. He is an "old" 29, though, but I'll always consider him a great Jet. Made some very clutch plays/catches in the green and white, and hoping (more for sentimental reasons) that somehow he gets brought back at a lower-priced contract.
They've been lifelong friends. It helps to throw to a guy that you've known for a long time. It matters.

Cotch is nowhere near tall enough to be a WR for San Diego, maybe he can take Sproles spot though. (obviously this is not serious) EDIT*** Did not see this, apologies.
This really piises me off ... I don't care if we got slightly better ... and I don't think we did anyway. Cotch has been a good Jet, and when we win the damn Lombardi Trophy he deserves to be there. He put in his work under three different head coaches, and Tanny totally fucked him. I don't want to hear about cap issues. He could have figured something else out. I'm fine with Plax ... but this is bullshit. And for the record ... If Cotch doesn't make that play against NE before the SG run, we probably lose that game. That catch and run broke their backs.
unless they really think his back is an issue then I agree. he shouldn't be cut. i don't think we're downgrading going to mason but cotch is the younger player who has been a terrific jet. are we upgrading if cotch is healthy? probably not. it's definitely not a big enough difference to make a difference in the season. i'm sure they have their reasons. i'm just glad i don't have to make these tough decisions. i could never cut cotch. but hey, it happens. the ravens cut mason. he wasn't happy about it.
Besides JCo being a good Jet, the other concern I have is continuity with Sanchez. mark ran the Jets west and the only 2 starting receivers on this team from the 2 camps are Holmes and Keller. The young WRs (Kerley et al) are not going to have an impact. I only hope the RBs will pick up the slack. Its going to be a couple months before Plax and Mason are on the same page as Mark.
Braylon was at Jets West, Holmes went for a day to Jets east, or Jets Player camp secretly run at FDU.
