This way people won't have to open a new window/tab to watch that.

Mason can do more than Cotch and will be cheaper to pay. Plus I figure with both Mason and Burress one year deals we will be drafting a receiver next year. Kerley will be taking the slot receiver spot next season.

If Cotch isn't happy being a #3 here, then there's no reason not to move him.

Releasing him for a cheaper WR that can do the same thing Cotch does.

I think JetsFan needs a tour of the prison shower. I hear they love pedophiles there.

    Five Reasons:
1st - Cotch is getting #2 WR pay and is clearly NOT our #2
2nd - He is not happy being a #3 receiver, which is all he will ever be on the Jets, unless there are injuries.
3rd - He is not happy with some decisions the team has made.
4th - He is not 100% and there is doubt he will be back to 100% any time soon.
5th - The Jets can save a lot of money over the next two years to sign other players.

Not to mention Mason is a better route runner and much more proven possession receiver.

Ok, here goes: Cotch is injured and expensive. the Jets asked him to cut his salary and he refused. He is basically damaged goods due to a back operation recently and he is way too expensive.

You do understand that not only was Mason not a #3 WR for the Ravens, he really wasn't even a #2 -- he was the #1 WR (or he and Boldin were co-#1's/#2's. The Ravens really didn't have a true #1 WR, but Mason had the most catches), and he whines a lot when he doesn't get the ball. I'm not saying he's not a good, tough WR -- he is. But if you're projecting him to be satisfied as a #3, I think you're going to be disappointed. In his attitude; not in his performance.

I'm gonna miss Cotch. He's been here forever and has made some big plays. Sad thing is I think he still has a lot of big plays left in him. (More than I think Mason has).

I'm sure Rex will clearly state to Mason what his role in the offense will be. If Mason thinks he's the #1 WR, then he needs a psychiatric evaluation.

    Nice nips in your avatar.

I agree 100%. And I'm thinking that maybe what's holding the finalization up is exactly that -- Rex laying it out to Mason about what he role is going to be, and Mason deciding if he can handle that. I think it's possible that winning will replace at least some of Mason's need to be the #1 WR. In Baltimore, he and Heap were just about it -- at least until they brought in Boldin. But even after that, Mason wanted to get the ball. Nothing wrong with that in theory, but his attitude did leave something to be desired at times. But he's one tough mofo. If the Jets get him, he'll make the team better.
