I'm getting a little fed up with the lack of loyalty and gratitude in the NFL and the way everyone just excuses it because "well, that's how the business goes." Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit. If the Jets are serious about winning a SuperBowl this year, you telling me they couldn't keep one fucking roster spot for Cotchery. FOR COTCHERY!!! Who the hell are they bringing in by letting him go that is going to make the difference on whether we win a title or not?
Funny, before the edit I was gonna quote this and say jonnyd hates all the jets players. With the additions it seems that was a pretty accurate assessment.
Cotch had his worst season last year and may have serious back issues. Its like last year hearing all the locker room chemistry bullshit again.
Your least favorite Jet, Derrick Mason. Sorry nobody thought to negotiate a sentimental fan roster slot for players like cotchery into the new CBA. If he was gonna help get the Jets to the superbowl he wouldn't be getting replaced in the next few hours. Players hold out, teams cut guys, that's how it works. deal with it.
Whyyyyyyyyyyy would the Jets cut Cotchery http://twitter.com/#!/TheJetsStream/status/99157205911212032 Now, granted, I do like Derrick Mason. But I don't see him making this team better than it is with Cotchery on board. And I don't see an argument for Cotchery being overpaid. And I don't see the Jets having any real need to free up a few bucks in cap space. This seems like stupidity on purpose.
Imagine how Niner fans felt seeing Joe Montana suit up with the Chiefs after 14 years with them. Am I happy to see Cotch go, hell no. Do I trust that Tanny & Rex are doing this to make us a better team, hell yes.
Ladies and gentlemen, a completely appropriate response. Nobody WANTS to see Cotchery go. After his time here, I'd love to see him get a ring. However, teams like the Patriots have won championships and remained competitive by trading and cutting players as they were no longer useful. Where was the loyalty for Richard Seymour? It's a business, and the goal of that business is winning. If the team thinks this helps us win a championship, who am I to question? I thought Edwards should have been re-signed, and we saw how that went.
Imagine how the Packer fans felt when Brett Favre kicked their asses twice as a Viking two years ago. Yeah, I know they just won the Super Bowl.
we have an emotional distress thread as well as two threads without gay titles to discuss your emotional turmoil in.
