hmy: Dustin Keller - TE Jeremy Kerley - Rookie Scotty McKnight - Rookie Cotchery or his replacement? - If we have Coth theres no problem and on and on... - ??? It would suck don't get me wrong if Revis or Cro went down but we do have guys that know the system to back them up in Strickland and Wilson.
I assume this is a joke. Zach Miller is one of the best TEs in football; he would cost $5million a year or more.
Not with Hartsock and Mulligan as the depth behind keller. They offer little versatility, which tips the defense off to what the Jets are trying to do.
I'm not supporting Zach Miller to the Jets....but don't you think different personnel would change what formations we use regularly? Also, Hartsock got a lot more PT then people think. edit: NDmick beat me
Ok, so we get rid of Cotch, our #3 is Kerley a rookie that hasn't had a single snap or went over the system untill yerterday. Now a 34 year old player gets injured, tweaked or just out right sucks because he hasn't played ball in 2 years so Kerley moves to #2, you're still ok with this? It doesn't have to be both for me to be worried. These rookies are raw, much more so than a rookie usually is due to the lockout, I don't see this working out at #3 or especially at #2.
The Jets said they weren't done making moves. There are about 27 teams that if they lose their #2 or 3 guy they have shit to replace him. Reports of Kerley already being mentally ahead of all rookies shows signs that this kid might be able to produce in the slot right away.
I'd actually rather have Derrick Mason, if cotch is going to be traded. They're the same player, and if Mason can be had for cheaper then its a good move after getting a mid rounder for Cotch.
I think the problem is most people are assuming Plax is just going to have a diminished skill set due to age, but the reality is the guy hasn't played in 2 years who knows what to expect.
