"@TheJetsStream: I've been told that the #Jets have reached out to free agent defensive end Shaun Ellis and expressed a level of interest. #nyj"

Bring him back on the vet minimum for the year. Although I do worry about finding a roster spot for him.

Great news, hope they bring him back. If we do win a ring, I want Ellis to be on the team that does so.

Ellis deserves more than the vet minimum.

Would love to see #92 on the field for us this year. As long as the Big at is wearing that #92 though.

Absolutely, but he's not going to get it from the Jets. And if someone offers him more money the Jets will let him go. The NFL is a cruel business. Ellis has made more then enough cash.

I'm not saying we should pay Shaun Ellis what he deserves because he's a swell guy. I'm saying that unless we pay Shaun Ellis what he deserves, he won't play for us.

Ellis, for years running, has been the most underrated Jet on this squad. The dude is one of the best 3-4 ends in the league. We'll be able to see that a little clearer if he starts sacking Mark Sanchez for the Patriots.

I tend to disagree with this. Ellis is prefect for what we need. A guy good enough to be a part time starter but beat up enough to usderstand he needs to accept a lesser role. With him as a rotational guy and a mentor to the young D linemen its worth more to us than vet min.

I'm not a big fan of using next year's cap for a player that will likely only be here for this season. I would imagine we will be very tight with cap space in 2012. If we can fit him under 2011, get him- otherwise I'd pass.

in a shortened offseason its crucial to bring him back because we need guys who can step right in and perform

ellis knows the system and wont be learning on the fly like wilkerson and k ellis
