Some of his former Giants teammates visited him and prison and have said the same thing.

That being said, being in shape to lift weights and run is different from being in shape to play football. Two years out of the game, those hits might rattle him a little.

while you would love to see Sanchez have the same receivers, I like the fact that there was always a good chance that when you bring back Holmes and Edwards with new contracts, 1 of them might go sour.

1 year contract for Burress means he has something to play for...I like the thinking although I hate rentals...it makes total sense.

Just woke up to this before, i like it, but the first thing that came to my mind was anyway this signing is used as leverage to sign Bray back cheaper? Who says we cant have a WR core of Holmes,Bray,Cotch,Burress,Kerley, and McKnight? That to me is awesome and every element of a WR core Sanchez would need.

I still think Braylon wants to be a Jet and at the right price i dont see.why we couldnt fit him in with the cap we created.

I'm really not that excited about this signing compared to what we had last year. Plaxico has not played football in 2 years!...I think the long term money should have been given to Braylon...he wanted to play for us. fixed his drops. and was great in run blocking.

See michael vick, the year after he got outta prison. he was very ineffective. especially seeing as how Plax is here only on a 1 year deal. I still think we need to bring in another receiver. hopefully we at least sign cro back after this aso debacle.

doesnt matter to be honest..i mean how do we know his skill level is still there? does he still have the ability to run downfield like he did before? can he make the cuts he made before...i just think long term, braylon is the better fit for our team and our focus should have been to bring him back...my hunch is that we bring cro back and will probably overpay him...had we just focused on bray and cro prior to aso bullshit, we could have brought them back long term and had a nice core for the next 4 or 5 years...now we have plax for rent for 1 year...leaving us with another gap to fill next year at WR when we have other positions to address such as safety....

How much conditioning was this guy able to do in the prison yard? He's 34, which is ancient in athlete terms. I hope for his sake he's been hitting the HGH hard since he got out.

I tink this move was don because we cant fit both bray and plax under the cap we have left

so they replace bray with someone taller and with surer hands (from 2 years ago atleast)

the money left is for Cro

would you rather Bray over Cro at this point?

Kerley can be whatever he can be. He's got a great skill-set for the slot, but who knows until we actually let him play.

Not to excited about this. Plax was a really good receiver but i'm not sure anymore. He's been in prison 2 years and is going to be 34 in a few weeks.

And besides shooting himself in the leg, already had character issues (late/missing team meetings, arguing with coaches).

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm not sure this was their best move.

I thnk cro will be signed for about 8.5-9.5 million per yer but the Holmes small cap hit and the other restructed contracts leads me too believe we still could have about 6 mil in cap left, if we can make just a bit more room and get Bray at around 6-7 million per then sign back Ellis on a vet min wed be in great great shape. But the numbers are hard to tell.

i have my concerns, sure. they're all in here, age, football shape/speed, the fact that its plexiglass.

honestly its a one year rental. its guaranteed money to make him want to be here. he's gotta have a chip on his shoulder, or at the very least wants to prove he still has it. ok that's speculation, but i don't think its hard to imagine there's some truth to it.

so to me, and i'd have preferred edwards, this isn't a bad thing. he's tall, he knows how use his body positioning to catch balls against top CBs. he made Eli look good. while there's good cause for concern to think he might not have all that again, most of that is muscle memory. to me the concern is the, to steal a phrase from ronnie lott, woo hits. those are the things that without repitition can be tough to get back into form. but the speed, the jump balls, the blocking out/squaring shoulders to the ball, that will be on the field soon enough, i'm sure.

I'm not a coach/scout by any stretch of the imagination so somebody correct me if I'm wrong but if your technique is sound I imagine you can always cut well and get open. It's why some receivers are able to play well into their 30s and still be effective (Derrick Mason for example). It's the speed guys that have a sharp decline (which we may or may not see in Moss) but Plax isn't a speed guy. He's a technique and size/strength guy. I think he's got a chance to be an excellent weapon for us.

i agree... the things he's made his bread and butter on are not the things that fade with age. well jumping sure, but the fact that he's like san diego charger tall, helps that. like i said in my post above i'm concerned about his already suspect chin.

    to add to your point.

That's a good point. I definitely have my doubts, but I'll be pulling hard for him to have a great year.
