Plax is so overrated on this board. He is freaking 33 years old and hasn't caught a pass in two years. So not only is he old, he has been missing too much action. BE is BY FAR the better WR. He's performed excellent on a team that has rushed the most the last two years.
I don't understand why... 18 months in jail + old + still a dick... why bother!? I mean... if he comes cheap ok let's give him a chance... but "big pitch"!? C'mon...
Is really that important to convince one single guy that you don't know from a fan base of a team you don't support who has a different interpretation of the word "cheap" than you, that your team is not cheap?
I know. People forget that besides the gun incident he wasn't exactly a model teammate. Remember when people were tooling on him for arguing with coaches and missing team meetings? In addition to being away from the game for over 2 years AND being over thirty? I'd pass.
Exactly... listen to the interviews he's had once out of jail... the only thing this guy has learned is "don't shoot yourself in a leg"... and, although useful, it doesn't solve all of his problems.
This is hilarious If were REALLY going to go the past their prime route u might as well get moss. Burress has been using cigs as currency the last two years and he's sposed to come in and light it up? At 33? There's a reason eli manning made no big deal or made it a point to talk to him Meanwhile all steelers vets wined n dine him so go figure
So at what point do we worry that his minor tweak is more than that? He isn't even on the field for walkthroughs today and no word on where he is. I think he participated in part of one practice so far. rodboone Rod Boone RT @DWAZ73: @plaxico not at #Jets walkthrough. No word on status - maybe getting treatment. @quice at camp after dealing w/family matter.
I'd be more concerned if we hadn't signed Mason. Plax should contribute this season, but Mason is more than capable of stepping into the #2 spot if need be. That's why Rex didn't assign a true order to the top 3 receivers. I'd like to think Plax is back by Monday so he can get some game experience with Sanchez. The biggest reason why it's a concern isn't a "will he be ready for the season" issue; it's a "how is he going to get on the same page with Sanchez" issue.
I'm worried about the offense to be honest. I can't see how anyone can think we are better off then last season? Schotty better get Keller involved BIGTIME!
Keller should definitely be huge again to start the year. Before Holmes made his debut Keller was clearly the go-to target. He's definitely good enough to support the load. For the millionth time, it really is about Sanchez settling in. So long as they can survive the Dallas game, the offense will have a little buffer for a learning curve with Jax and Oakland the next two weeks.
