So far so good 1. We "lost" out of Nnamdi and I'm glad. You can't commit that much money to 2 CBs, especially with New England, which throws over the middle to TEs all the time, in your division. 2. We "lost" Brad Smith and I'm glad. He was versatile but a 4th WR shouldn't get $16M. 3. We lost Kellen Clemens. Enough said 4. We resigned Holmes and we got the $$ to go after Edwards and Cromartie. I was happy with the job they did last year. 5. We "lost" Weatherford and I'm glad. 6. The Pats picked up malcontents Haynseworth and Ochomoutho. 7. The fins have no QB and no power run game. 8. The Bills major signing will be Brad Smith, a 4th WR.
We could potentially lose Braylon Edwards and/or Antonio Cromartie. I'm not calling this a good offseason yet but I'm not calling it a bad one yet. If somebody told you back in February the Jets would be bringing back 2 of Holmes Edwards and Cromartie I'm sure most wouldn't complain.
We will sign Cro, hopefully Edwards. If not Edwards, there is clearly dollars for another wr. My hope is that braylon will work with us as Im sure he will.
We need to add someone new to the mix imo, I understand Sanchez will improve but the guys we drafted wont be enough to get us over the hump. Also the Patriots will slow down, Brady will not have as anywhere near as good of a season he had last year. It just wont happen. If anything I believe the Jets exposed the Patriots so thats why they realized the whole dumping it off to tightends gimmick wasnt going to last forever so that felt the need to get a better WR in Ochocinco.
I think the opposite, I think we'll sign Edwards but not Cromartie. Not because of ill will, hurt feelings or any of that hs female nonsense but because of $$$$$. He's gonna get way more than he's worth
Nope, not a good offseason. It's understandable to lose out on a big free agent like Nnamdi, but the Jets don't have a good plan B (or at least a timely plan B). We wasted 3 days cutting players, signing low round draft picks, and pissing off 2 huge contributors in Edwards and Cro. We still need to sign our top picks, replace departed starters, and sign backups for depth. We're running out of time to sign people as training camp begins on Sunday (I believe). The last thing we need is for new players to come onto the offense and hinder Sanchez's development.
OfficialBraylon Braylon Edwards Green and white...talk to your backers and teach them to cover in space.... msg from Edwards about an hour ago..WTF does this mean?
Btw, Haynesworth and Ochocinco may be malcontents, but they're still low risk-high reward players who can't afford to piss anyone off.
Well that sucks imo, Carr is a good slot corner, he'd fill Coleman's shoes only. We need Cro back on this team..
I don't believe Brady will have a drop off. That being said I seriously doubt he will have only 4 interceptions again. That was extremely low and part of that is due to some amount of luck.
Brady will b Brady. He will have a good year, the pats will contend for the division and we will have to play very well to get the much coveted home playoff game we haven't had in too long.
Yeah, definitely seems that way, I'm pretty sure Cro wants to stay, he just retweeted this Oh well, Malcom Floyd anyone?
bottom line is...we will all feel like shit for a couple more hours, maybe a day. then Tanny will do something fucking crazy, and we will all be masturbating to the jets again.
I hope Edwards stays......but his Tweet also confused me. Im not sure about Cro....although i think he would be better in the system this year than last. In the playoffs, Cro made huge plays and was putting it together. Im not sure he will stay for less....but never know....he wants to win! Has been close with SD, and now close with NYJ.
