True but since they won last year with the guys they have, they must have figured the magic would continue.

The Mets move is to help in the future, now we have 3 pitchers (Mejia, Wheeler and Harvey) in the farm system with a chance to be somebody. BJ is still young but struggling and given that his batting average has been dropping for a couple of years my not improve.

It's amazing how bad Bay is, but Duda off to a good start trying to pick up for Beltran.

Okay, a bases-clearing double for Bay makes up for some things. 9-3 in the top of the 5th, so barely decent pitching from now on and the Mets get the 4-game sweep.

IATA who stated we would get 2 used condoms and a empty beer bottle is now trying to argue that getting the giants best prospect is a bad deal..

Anyway looks like I owe Duda an apology!!

Got to love this Mets front office and coach , they have made us stay with it!!

    Duda and Wright are hot.

Upton is not comparable to Beltran at all.

Sure, Upton is younger, but Beltran is easily the better player.

Everyone knows he's not worth anything. I don't see how anyone would take the contract.

It's not that different from the Fukudome situation, except that Bay's contract runs longer. There are teams that would take Bay, but they're not taking the money and they're not giving up any decent prospects.

Bay's contract was dumb as hell, and I argued against it since it was signed. 5 years (including the vesting option) to a 31 year old on a team that wasn't ready to contend. Even if he had hit better it wouldn't have made sense.

Honestly, you made it sound like we weren't even going to get a top 100 prospect.

Anyway, huge win for the Mets, first four game sweep of the Reds ever.

Well, barely decent pitching is what they got, and the Mets win 10-9. Big game for Duda and Bay, Isringhausen's 297th career save.

That's what everything was leaning towards. Then the Giants got itchy fingers.

I'm happy with the trade, I want another series win now.
