You are correct. But heres the thing. Rex said having Revis give him the flexibility to use an extra defender. Having Aso will give him the flexibility to blitz on EVERY play or just double the 3rd WR and all the opposing receiving threat is essentially demolished.

Cro gave up 7 TDs last year. Nnamdi gave up just a few more total receptions than that. Same for Revis. Getting Nnamdi means teams would HAVE to take their chances against Nnamdi and/or Revis and we all know how delicious that sounds...

As of right now, I've been told the #Jets haven't approached Mangold, Ferguson and Revis to re-structure their contracts. #nyj

Who says they needed to restructure all of their salaries anyway? Sanchez's name is missing from this list for a reason.

if Revis restructures his contract, it would be laughable because of all the drama he created last season just to get that contract.

Shefter just said that he still thinks the Jets are the favorites in landing Aso.

but we have no idea on what type of compensation Cro is seeking, he is definitely looking for a big deal to take care of his family which is understandable. i'm sure his agent is waiting for the Aso,Rogers,Joseph, and Grimes offers / deals to gauge his price

Restructuring doesn't mean changing the total value of the contract. It just means converting salary in to bonus. Revis will still get the same money.

Problem is, Jets really can not restructure those three guys cuz then there would be major cap hell looping next year. converting salary means pushing players cap charge to following years and those three already have some high salary cap charges in future years.

When Mike Tannenbaum locks into a player we usually end up getting him. I think he's coming here and I will believe so until I hear he has signed elsewhere.

I agree, I'm trying to remember hearing about them being serious about a player, and not getting them.

People keep talking about Nnamdi will hurt the Jets Cap, not allow them to do other things this year and will ruin them in future years. Go ahead. Tell Mike Tannenbaum what he can't do! See what happens.
