I wont get too excited for Randy. But i did say i could see him behaving here. Everyone in the NFL has the same interest. The Jets are just a little bit louder than most about what it is. I woke up today to the Holmes news. Looks like i will wake up tomorrow to some Aso news. As of right now, how confident are you (anyone here) that we land Aso?
so basicall it the jets and the chance at a superbowl or 2 shitty nfc west teams with no qb's where he wont get exposure or win... if thats the case i like our chances
Based on what we know it'll be between the highest bidder and the Jets. If the Jets can make an offer reasonably close to the highest offer, he'll be a Jet. We gotta hope the 9ers and/or Texans or whoever don't break the bank for him.
I don't know about that. Revis has said he wants Ocho on the team (earlier this year). The guy knows which WR's are good. Rex also likes Ocho's style more than, say, Moss's. Ocho got screwed by having TO on his team. They were too similar and didn't complement each other very well.
I think we're probably 3-1 dogs honestly. I think this is where he wants to be, but ultimately, his agent is going to tell him to take the best offer, and 95% of players do just that, even after talking a big game about wanting to play for a winner. As soon as they sign, the talking point becomes about how they want to "build a winner." Some guys leave money on the table, but 98% of what is said to that effect is bullshit. We've got a chance, because with the low cap figure on Holmes, we can make a competitive offer, but unless we do, I don't think he's going to take a big paycut just to play with Rex/Revis sadly.
Revis and Chad Johnson (That is his name, lying bastard said he would change it back if Revis shut him down..........) Revis said its hardest for him to cover smaller quicker receivers. That is pretty much the quote. He mentioned Chad and Steve Smith (CAR).
Couldn't you say the same thing about Holmes and OchoCinco? I would say Holmes is more similar than TO is to OchoCinco...
And apparently Dallas will not jump into the Aso race: http://sportsblogs.star-telegram.com/cowboys/2011/07/forget-nnamdi-cowboys-like-their-corners.html
Jason La Confora just said on the NFL network that the Jets signing Aso would be difficult and unlikely.
Tell me who the tallest receiver was in last season's Super Bowl. Plaxico aided Manning because he was an excellent wide receiver. Part of the reason he's an excellent wide receiver is because he's tall. But that doesn't mean Eli Manning would have failed with an excellent short wide receiver.
It probably would be difficult to go up to Foxboro and beat a team that had just beaten you 45-3, a week after you put all your effort into beating Peyton Manning and the Colts. Seems unlikely.
Then lets get both Edwards and Cromartie locked up long term. I either want Aso #1 or Cromartie and Edwards #2.
thats what everyone said about signing any of our own free agents... tanny will make something work if not with aso with braylon and cro and perhaps others to improve the team
