A lot of this is Cimini pushing for the pick to backfire on the Jets. The sad thing is, I'm not sure he cares if it would hurt the kid or not, as long as it hurts the Jets. But if this lands the kid in trouble, then theoretically fans of teams could publicly go after other teams' players with baseball bats, with the hopes of landing that player in jail...and pursuing a multi-million dollar civil suit. The precedent is being set here that the attacker can claim to be the victim if he gets his ass kicked.
Well, maybe he'll break Brady's jaw in the AFCC, then 2 weeks later smoke a fat celebratory Jamaican kutchie as he watches Rex hoist the VLT on national TV...... then they can try and deport his ass, as he becomes a folk hero of the GangGreen fanbase. Woody can send him royalty checks from his jersey sales for the next decade. :breakdance:
we should sign up to play in the game thats in london next year so atleast we can have him for one game
London is driving distance to Amsterdam and legalized pot. I fear we would lose at least half the team for that game.
Then I hope we don't play in Denver any more. Nederland is within driving distance and pot is 100% legal there.
Yes exactly - because every defendant automatically is found guilty. When does Casey Anthony get put to death again?
Dont jump on me for thinking this but I have a feeling this year and last years draft may be full of busts for the Jets.I know its way early to think this but it may be a very possibility.I do have a good feeling about the Wilkerson guy though but hey what do I know :breakdance:
The Jets drafted guys who would not be immediate starters on the team. Wilson was to play nickel the first year, Ducasse is a project that may take another year to bear fruit as he is still learning the game, McKnight would not get many touches behind Greene and LT As for this year's draft? They have not even practiced with the team yet. But if Shaun Ellis does not return, I can see Wilkerson stepping in immediately at DE and K. Ellis getting alot of time rotating in and out in situations with Pouha the starter.
This is based on what ? All the guys we drafted last year were buried behind probowlers and hall of famers on the depth chart. The guys this year havent even gone to their first nfl camp. Thinking a single player is gonna be a bust is one thing, but suddenly lumping a ton of guys who havent had a chance to do anything yet as "all bust" seems not only premature but stupid. If every single guy we got this and last year are all busts then a ton of people should immediately be fired.
Im not really jumping on the guys we drafted this year as being busts just sayin how we are takin a big risk with this Ellis guy who we drafted to apparently take Jenkins spot which is huge and he can be damn good just dont like this whole situation with him.As far as last years guys go I guess im just one who prefers immediate impact and we had none of that from last years draft.
The only risk with Ellis is his criminal case, which if the Jets thought it was going to be an issue they would not have drafted him.
How can you get immediate impact from a guy that wont be playing ? The only guy who legit had a shot to play was Kyle Wilson and to be fair he got moved all over the place in training camp due to the Revis holdout and never really learned how to be a nickle back because of that. Guys like McKnight and Duccasse were buried on depth charts.I dont know a single team who drafts expects an immediate impact out of their 3rd string halfback, or an offensive lineman that they dont even plan on putting on the active roster.
No one likes to lose draft picks more than I do, but I'm not sure that you could consider the 30th pick of the 3rd round (#94 overall) a "bust". I wouldnt even consider it that draft spot much of a "risk".......in the end, its a 3rd rounder. Trust me, I wasnt happy eitherr when 3rd rounder Anthony Schlegel was a pile of $hit from the start. K. Wilson showed much improvement in the latter part of the year in the nickel + dime packages. Don't judge the guy from the first 3 games he played. And I liked what I saw from Ducasse in the Buffalo game -- strong and quick off the snap.
Sounds like this shit has the possibility of getting real. But honestly I believe the Jets did their research on the case before they drafted him and they feel like he's not going to get convicted. If he does -- shit, 3rd round pick wasted. If he doesn't, let's hope that this was a one time incident and he doesn't become a problem.
I take what I said back. It was a knee-jerk reaction after reading that he could get deported. Chances are it's a self-defence verdict and the kid doesn't spend a day in jail. Lets hope that's the case, because he seems like a bull.
