I like it for Thanksgiving as it makes it feel like a special event but a Thursday night game every week just makes it feel less special. That and it just makes the whole schedule awkward.There are going to be too many games where one team has an extra 3 days rest.I wouldn't mind an extra prime time game but it's so far away from Sunday(the day football is meant to be played) that it just seems kind of wrong.
I also don't like it. It sucks when the Jets play in a Thursday night game. Two games in five days and then 10 days before they play again. Coaches and players don't like Thursday night games. The players don't get proper rest and the coaches don't have much time to prepare.

Not really at all. If you're a fan of a shitty team and you live out of market, you'll still have to pay for Sunday Ticket.
They're still a big draw because football > anything on tv, especiallly with dvr, netflix, etc. I'm sure espn's ratings for Thursday night ncaa were pretty good...I def found myself watching games I wouldn't otherwise give a shit about
i dont like it. i enjoy watching a college game on a thursday night. it is much easier to get a decent matchup in college than the nfl. i just dont see myself getting all worked up to watch seattle and san fran on thursday night. i would rather watch south carolina vs. mississippi state to be honest.
I don't get geeked for the Thursday college games either. I watch some college football on Saturdays. Then I watch 9 hours of NFL games on Sundays and usually another 2 hours of people talking about NFL games (the hour before the Sunday night game and another hour after the Sunday night game). Then there is Monday Night Countdown and then the Monday night game. I'm perfectly fine with reading about the sport and watching NFL Network on Tuesdays through Saturdays. Give me the three Thanksgiving games and then one or two other Thursday games and I'd be happy. But 16 Thursday games? That's too much. That said, I'd watch them unless the game was true trash like last year's Panthers-Steelers shitshow. Thursday games also cause trouble for people running office pools. Usually, you'd have to have your picks in by noon on Thursday. Or the person running the pool could take the Thursday game off the board.
I have a feeling a deal will get done within a week but 2 max. It hopefully will be a very exciting 3 weeks or so of free agency. Then camp will be comin up and we will be right in the thick of things! Have optimism.
I agree here. It's already gone on this long, I hope it prolongs another month so Free-Agency is a fucking scramble and I keep getting TXT notifications from ESPN about all the signings. Holler.
Owners and players are meeting today in Boston. I have a feeling we'll have at least a verbal agreement by the end of the week.
Someone should call Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith to make sure they are aware of this, they might have to reboot negotiations.
My assumption is that the CBA framework (at the very least) should be completed by the end of the June...which would be more than enough reason to lift the lockout. Let's hope both sides continue gaining momentum to a solution.
16 Thursday games which will all probably be on NFL Network. It's a good ploy for the NFL to almost force companies like Cablevision, who don't have NFL Network, to buy in.
