This is from PFT, this is a no off-season off-seaosn story, and I have not seen it anywhere else. I hope these disclaimers keep me from a fake news ban. Anyway, in this incredibly sucky non off-season off-season, figured I'd post this story: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/06/13/tom-moore-could-work-for-the-jets/ Tom Moore could work for the Jets Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on June 13, 2011, 9:06 PM EDT Getty ImagesDespite some confusion earlier this offseason, we know now that longtime offensive coordinator Tom Moore is no longer with the Colts. That may free him up for another gig. ESPN.com’s Paul Kuharsky writes that Moore may do some consulting with the Jets. He met with the team earlier this offseason to tutor them on the red zone, and Rex Ryan must have liked what he heard. The idea would be for Moore “to go over film on occasion and offer a review.” That may sound attractive at this stage in Moore’s football life. He reportedly passed up a chance to run the Titans offense earlier this offseason because of the demands of the job. As Kuharksy points out, the Colts took a calculated risk when they said goodbye to Moore, so they can’t complain now.
Anything to help Schotty is good in my book. Maybe he can get Schotty to cut down on his pre-snap BS.
I really like the idea of having some experienced people taking a look at our offense from the outside and giving input. I think it's easy for Shotty to get caught up in all the hard work and intricacies of the offense from week to week that it becomes hard for him to see the big picture of where things are going wrong. Shotty needs a second pair of eyes on what he's doing from someone who's had success like Moore has had. Rex is mostly a defensive coach so I'm not sure he qualifies as that second pair of eyes. I'll take all the help we can get.
That's unfair. Moore had success as an offensive coordinator with Pittsburgh and Detroit with Mark Malone and Scott Mitchell as his main quarterbacks. He helped take teams with those QBs to the postseason.
The pre-snap stuff is not bullshit. It's actually very smart, especially for a run heavy team that wants to kill clock. Look at guys like Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers and you see them constantly changing plays at the line and moving players in motion. With more experience under his belt, Sanchez will only get better at managing the offense.
Since we do not play indy in the regular season. I doubt its to help our d get ready for Payton but that is why I would hire a guy like moore. He knows Payton inside and out.
