They made the timing of events a little wonky on the show, in the books Ned is killed well before Jaime is captured, otherwise Cersei would've traded him for Jaime and the nonsense at the sept would've never happened.

They're doing a really great job with Joffrey though, he actually seemed like a king last night with the look he gave Sansa and the "soft hearts of women" line rather than just a whiny brat.

I guess I have to edit to "most accomplished" to "biggest draw" then.

as someone who hasn't read the books, I was privy to the fact the author is not against killing off main characters, just from talking to people at work earlier on. As for my feelings on who is next to die. I'm feeling it's not going to Jaime, but Tyrion. He's about the next most loved character after Ned Stark. As for who is the star, I know there is not one main star, but I'm hoping for a really big role for John Snow, my favorite character on the show. Rob Stark is growing on me as well.

Ned's role seemed bigger in the TV series than the character is in the books I would say, obviously HBO wanted to get the most mileage out of their biggest star

GRRM must be coining it in, on amazon (UK) the first three books are at 1, 2 and 5 in the charts right now.

Is this show really as good as everyone says it is? It's not my kind of show but I said that about TrueBlood and I think that's a pretty decent show.

True Blood is murderporn, Game of Thrones is an incredibly well-told story. But also with lots of tits.

This is exactly my sentiment so far.

I've mentioned in other threads about good shows/books what makes them good is for the author to take real risks with their characters. As we've seen so far, that's what this show is doing so well.

I'm reading the first book, and I'm still well behind the progression of the show. So far I'm loving the book, and I recommend it highly for fans of the show -- as both experiences are enhanced -- I'd say that is somewhat rare.

I close are we to Joffrey getting married? To the people who have read the books anyway.

Game of Thrones is based on the series "A Song of Ice and Fire", and I think this was brought up already but will they stick with this title or move on to each book title as they get to it? If so just based on title alone I'm looking forward to the 5th book in the series, "A Dance with Dragons".

I realize naming the show "A Song of Ice and Fire" does sound queer.

I can't believe they have D&D type games for this, those fuckers that are into that shit must've exploded all over their house for months.

Bean has top billing in the opening credits. The story starts with him in the first episode. The 'primary' plot line this season has been Starks vs. Lannisters. I could understand people's surprise when he didn't make it through the season.

Breaking Bad is the best show on TV. People on here had said it, but I never got around to checking it out.

AMC has been showing 2-3 episodes back to back every Wednesday night. I'm up to around episode 25. Hopefully they will manage to fit them all in before the new season comes out.

Did any of you watch Camelot and what do you think of it next to GoT?

I liked the twist in the season finale, I still wish Arthur was a skinny bitch. Hopefully they bulk him up for next season as he matures into a warrior.

Camelot has a easier time with the audience because they're taking a very popular story and just telling it their own way. GoT is a brand new story with unfamiliar characters, but Camelot went with mostly unknowns with their series except for Joseph Fiennes who has played Merlin very well.
Guinevere is friggin hot, Eva Green is fairly known and plays Morgan well.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan said the entire series will air on AMC before Season 4 starts, so get your DVR ready.

The DVDs are worth the money, especially if you can find them cheaper online.

I watched Camelot and thought it was just OK. Their biggest mistake was going up against Game of Thrones. Any time I would watch them back to back on Monday it was almost laughable.

Camelot feels like an average TV series. Game of Thrones feels like an excellent movie.

Eva Green is still smoking hot though, and she is probably the best actor on the show.
