What I would change: Something looks off.. missing shadows or fading. Can't put a finger on it though. Don't think you need the little thumbnail pictures next to items like Calendar and Search. Clutters it imo. Quick reply button is unnecessary and Multi-Quote button should be small I think. Maybe something like this: These icons are broken for me: My 2 cents
Looks great to me! I logged in this morning and was like WTF, am I at the right forum? For the longest time TGG had a classic, almost "old-school" appearance to it. I like this new look, it's slick and modern, and seems like all the same functionality is there. Probably overdue for an update, but better late than never.
I used to have avatars and signatures turned off so that it would be "less conspicuous" that I'm browsing a message board at work, but the reality is it's pretty obvious either way. A message board looks like a message board, not like a spreadsheet or a terminal window, there's no way to disguise it (and if you know of a way, please PM me!). Now I basically just keep it minimized and only bring it up when I know the coast is clear. Oh no, here comes da boss! *duck*
For some reason the images to the immediate left of the threads are marked with an X, which makes it really tough to keep the thread list minimized and readable. If that makes any sense.
IATA is right...the vCash is gonzo. I went into Virtual Vegas to start a thread and the vbookie option wasn't available.
I love it!! Edit- Now the old AAJ sigs need a white background, not the grey. Edit 2 Sig looks good against the white.
Speaking for myself....I think it looks great. Everything is more clear and concise, which is great for my old ass. The side icon tells you how many posts you have in that particular thread, which is a plus. Great job, Petro.
In the BS forum, this image on the left of one of the sticky threads can't be displayed, and it's driving me insane when trying to minimize the window:
