Judging by the first batch of guys, I'm thinking Mangold, revis, brick...and if not brick, my sleeper is brandon moore. I think he gets a lot of respect around the league
With 18 receivers in the list, Holmes will be there. In fact they even trailed him at the end of the show, so I'll be shocked if he isn't in. Depending on how much players are being voted in on reputation, and TO's presence at 91 suggests that that definitely counts for something, I wouldn't be surprised to see LT in the list as well.
I take this list even less seriously than I did originally. I have almost no interest in watching any of this show.
Agreed. When I see McNabb -a player nobody wants - on this list at all, and hear that there are 18 receivers - the least important position in the NFL - on the list, I completely lose interest.
It's a list of "100 Greatest Players" over the course of a single season. No one should have been taking this seriously to begin with.
To think they spend godknows how much time analyzing the first 10... I mean, it's like you create a thread of your best players and then create another thread to analyze your previous thread.
I agree on both counts. You'll likely see Holmes and LT, joining Brick, Mangold, and Revis. 18 WR's is just ridiculous though imo. This means plenty of good Olineman and LB's will be left out in favor of diva highlights.
Most likely there's gonna be a lot of reputation picks in the top 20. Ray Lewis will make the top 10 even though he's not the same player he was. I'm hoping Dan Carpenter makes it seeing as he was the entire Miami offense last year. Also hoping Henne gets picked one spot higher than Sanchez so it will finally prove without a doubt that he is better.
Kyle Williams is one of the best defensive linemen in the league right now, so I wouldn't think one of the teams would be the Bills. Then again, players voted here and they are very unpredictable and downright silly at times. I actually watched about 20 seconds of the first episode last night and saw Brian Westbrook talking about how he would put Donovan McNabb in the top 10. That was the end of that. I flipped to a different channel.
OK. If it is based on the 2010 season, then how in the world does McNabb make the list? Once his name appeared, the list is crap. Maybe if the list were the top 100 players of the last 5-10 years, you could argue for McNabb, but here is a player on a bad team who was benched. How does he make any list except one for biggest disappoinments???
mcnabb had 14 touchdowns and 15 picks last year if he is on the list then sanchez should be on the list
It isn't based on the 2010 season. They were talking about it at the end of the draft show before the Greatest Players show started, and they said they specifically hadn't told the players whether to vote based on current performance or their career - the only criterion is that they have to be playing still.
