That was a big scandal. It was a creative writing assignment, two players were kicked off the team as a result, and people were shocked because he was otherwise always a model student. I'll see if I can find some of the stuff, but it's been years since that happened.

I've always wondered why anyone bothers with the 7th round. Why not just call it quits at 6 and have a dart throwing robot pick the 7th? It's not like there has ever been a 7th rounder who made a team before.

Jets didn't have a 7th round pick in last year's draft..... Though since I looked that up I did find out that Marc Mariani, a small white WR from Montana was drafted in the 7th round last year and made the pro bowl for the Titans however though. Go figure.
correct, we did not have a 7th round pick. In fact, the jets haven't had a 7th round pick since 2007 when they selected Nate Garner. He was actually a starting OL in miami for a while last season.
It's a big drop from Colston to the trash can. There are a lot of 7th rounders in between who are on rosters, including some starters taken in the 7th round just last season. Syd'Quan Thompson had a pick against us last year. He was a 2010 7th Rounder for the Broncos.
I think Hagg in the 7th round might have helped this team, but I don't get everyone throwing this pick away simply because he's Sanchez's friend. I have more faith in Tannenbaum to think that he'll just let one pick go right in the trash can. How about we give McKnight a chance to make the team before decrying this pick as a waste?
