Can't wait for Sanchez to have one bad game and the SOJ fans will be calling for McElroy to get the starting job.
Listened to the guy on Patriots network. He seemed pretty fucking happy to be picked by the Jets. I like it.
Hi dads favorite player was Joe Namath...He was taught by the same high school QB coach as of Mark Sanchez. He is a leader, confident, field general, and makes good decision. He is like a Chad Pennington lite...IF anything happens to Mark, it would be good to have Mcelroy come in. ESPN just had him come in. Brunell, Clemens, Ainge, O'Connell ALL BUMS people...Greg will learn from Schotty who suits his style.
Sanchez has battled injuries in his 1st 2 years so a backup QB was going to be needed, especially with what we had last year.
Why would the Jets draft a QB in the seventh round this year if they didn't have enough concerns about Sanchez's health/ability to question his viability as a long-term starter? /SOJF'd
Calling Bob Johnson just a high school QB coach is disingenuous. He was Mark's HC at Mission, one of the best programs in the nation, and he's an absolute QB guru at every level. That stretches back WAAAAY past his work at Mission. I remember when his kids were at El Toro. Rob went to USC just because UCLA wouldn't let him attend every practice to work as his private QB coach. That was 20+ years ago. Your description of him is great. Dude is a VERY heady QB, which is what you want out of a backup. Someone who won't panic and lose his head if he's forced into action. Hope he develops well.
A year down the road, and then some, if some injury should happen to Sanchez, our season does not go down the toilet. Anybody believe our current set of backups could get us to another championship game? I hate to anoint him, but he does have the best chance to win if he has to step in. He really wants to be here. It looks like the perfect fit for him, and he knew that right away. And its mutual, since the Jets backup situation really had me worried. Clemens hit his ceiling, and it wasn't much of a jump. And Brunell is already retired, I hope to hell he doesn't have to take a non-garbage time snap. If he's even going to be around after this Summer. It looks pretty sure Clemens can clean out his locker for good.
Tannenbaum has the mantra of adding a new QB to the fold each year -- he learned it from Parcells or Ron Wolf. That's what this is for the most part.
yeah, it's wingo. he's infinitely better than berman. it seemed like mcelroy was getting kind of emotional as well when wingo brought up the alabama tornado situation
