Man thinking about what they can do on defense with Suh and now Farily....that is pretty damn good. If they can just keep that china doll from getting killed every year they might have something to work with..

It's much harder to build an offensive line than drafting two beast DTs.

They're building a pretty solid defense. I consider the Lions my NFC team, so I'm excited for them.

The Lions are going to be a good team in a couple years.

Lions will go above .500 next year.

If Lions sign Nnamdi that defense will be terrifying.

Ever since the 0-16 season I love what they've done, especially yesterday.

Yep, a pretty solid defense that has no LBs or CBs. To be fair, there really wasn't anyone there worth taking besides Quinn and Fairley.

And while Carter would be ideal in the 2nd, or even Harris/Foster, it wouldn't surprise me if they went Leshoure.

Board seems to be falling that way.

Yeah Prince Amukamara would have been a terrible pick...

Meh, I see Prince as a solid pro, but not a playmaker. Wouldn't have been a terrible pick, but with the value still on the board, I don't think he would have been the best pick. Time will tell.

But whomever told Fairley to wear those glasses last night needs to be slapped. He looked like a fucking retard.

He also didn't look happy to be wearing them. Or maybe it's that he was drafted by the Lions? :breakdance:

Either way, great pick for you guys.

Yeah, ever since they hit rock-bottom, they've steadily improved.

There seemed to be a lot of the "nerd chic" look at the draft last night. Kids these days

lions will be decent but there secondary sucks and they have no o line so there competitiveness will be limited

I like what the Lions did. They obviously didn't like any CBs besides PP and the LB crop this year left a lot to be desired.

Nnamdi is a pipe dream but if they can snag Jon Joseph and maybe add a guy like Tulloch, that's a pretty good roster in such a short turnaround. Hard to speculate without knowing the rules because of this stupid labor dispute, though.

Might even be a fringe/borderline playoff team without Stafford.

Jets? Whenever the worst pick comes as your last, I think you had a pretty solid draft.

They needed to get younger on the DL and they did exactly that. I'm guessing they weren't too enthralled with the LB crop this year as well. Sticking to your board is what good teams do.

Just glad that the Lions have someone who believes in this as well.

Not that I pay nearly as much attention to Detroit as i do the Jets, I would like to say I was pretty excited with Detroits draft. Grabbing Fairley to pair with Suh is going to make it ridiculously difficult to run on them. Toss in the pass rushers they have in Vandenbosch and Avril and that DL is going to be damn good. Add in Mikel Leshoure to pair with Best makes for a great backfield. Then give Johnson a running mate with Titus Young, it was a great first couple days for guys. I also like Doug Houge out of Cuse. The kid is going to be the next great ST linebacker in the NFL. great pickup. All in all that team is getting better. Do they still have needs? Of course, but if they can bring in a couple of good FA's (god forbid they sign Nnamdi or Jon Joseph) their secondary will be solid enough. Their biggest issue right now is keeping mr. glass from cracking...

Hopefully (for the lions and for him) Fairley proves many people wrong. He should've been gone in the top 5 before teams interviewed him.

I don't know, while you can't argue the value I think Fairley has a high bust potential.Don't like Leshoure al that much either though I do think he makes a great compliment to Best. My favorite Lions pick was Young who is the perfect WR on the opposite side of CJ.

Lions with be this years "it" team with everyone calling them the surprise team to look out for. I don't see that happening this year. They need to figure out a way to keep China doll Stafford on the field, until that happens the Lions can't be taken too seriously.
