Sorry to flood the NFL channel with my horsecrap, but bear with me: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ront-office-takes-tv-role?module=HP_headlines Parcells is out of Miami. Phags are in deep pile of shit. Oh, Joyous moments.
Phin fans will spin this as a positive since he wasn't really on site much last year. They're wrong, of course, but they'll do it.
I'm thinking he was tired of talking football Fergie and pretending that Jimmy Buffett songs are listenable.
Funny how every team he rebuilds falls one step shorter of winning a Super Bowl than the team before it.
I don't think it is necessarily spin If you take a look at what he did for us while he was here, how great was it? Sure he got Pennington, who got us to a grand total of one playoff game. But he also wasted 2nd rounders on Chad Henne and Pat White. He left us with the most important position in football unsettled when he passed on Matt Ryan for Jake Long. Look at how many holes there are on our roster. If you call a borderline .500 squad a success, then I guess I should be very upset that he is leaving
Apparently a tie for the biggest turnaround in NFL history is meaningless horseshit. He got you your first division championship in 8 years, then slowly started backing away. You've gotten progressively worse as his role diminished, so forgive me for thinking the team is in shit shape now. I love seeing Phin fans call Henne a wasted pick now. Last year he was better than Sanchez according to you guys.
Prediction: Parcells sits out a year or two and takes on some sort of position in, of all stinking hellholes - Oakland.
Speaking of Miami, this guy at work and I argued all day that Miami has been more successful the last 3 years than the Jets. His argument is they won a division in 2008. The Jets never won anything he said. Still, the Jets finished 9-7, 9-7 and 11-5 the last 3 years including 2 AFC Championship Game appearances with a 4-2 playoff record. Miami luckily won the division in 2008 cause the Jets collapsed, Brady got hurt, and an easy schedule. And 2009 and 2010 they sucked. Man, he pissed me off today.
Parcells won the Super Bowl with Jeff fucking Hostetler at QB, almost won with Drew Statue, and got within sneezing distance with Vinny Bagadonuts, jeezus H. Christ in a chicken basket. Man's bona fides are without question. He's fat, lazy, bored and commands an outrageous lump of dough from whatever witless franchise will hire him to do as little as he feels like. Man's a fucking hero.
Obviously you need to have had a shit year the year before to have the biggest turnaround in NFL history. Not to mention the easy schedule helped. Lets not act like that was his goal when he came to Miami. He still was not able to turn that into anything meaningful. The biggest reasons for the turnaround that you can credit to Parcells were getting a real football coach and getting Pennington. What difference does it make that Phins fans that you selectively remember were calling Henne better than Sanchez last year? Even if it was the majority, they were obviously biased, and it doesn't matter what they thought. It was still a wasted pick. Debate that. Be smart
Plenty of teams have shit years every year. Only two have won 10 more games the following season. Like I said, as Parcells gradually slipped away, so did the team's success. That's not a coincidence. The spin is to suggest it's good he's gone, rather than to lament that diminishing presence. He left you with results that paled in comparison for two years compared to what might have been. I hated Parcells to the Phins, but you're going to be right back in terrible shape again. What the fuck are you trying to argue about here? I said I love the 180 and that Phin fans now acknowledge what we knew last year. I never said you were wrong to call it a wasted pick, only that I was relishing the massive nose dive opinion of Henne has taken. As far as being smart, I've still never been stupid enough to pretend to be a fan of a different team because I was scared of posters on a rival's forum.
