So apparently playing in the NFL is modern day slavery according to Adrian Peterson.

    Are you kidding me!?

Just for your information we are having to deal with this shit because the owners opted out, not the players...

its funny to see posts like the one you quoted. the players are more than willing to have things stay the same the owners are the ones crying and stomping their feet.

Here's one issue on Goodell letter: It's a $141M cap number, but after benefits, it's $114M for salary. NFLPA was at $127M two years ago.

^ right...it would be lower because the NFLPA insists on more money for alumni for healthcare = lower pay for current players

but the nflpa wants more money AND more health benefits...that's where the disconnect is

Disagree. 15 years ago, what you say might hold true. The NFL is more about the marketability of the individual player now than it ever was.

The NFL is banking on the idea that the fiscal irresponsibility of the players will get them to break. You're out of your mind if you think the possibility of replacement players will have any effect at all on the negotiations. The last thing the owners want to do is go into a season with a bunch of guys they found in the CFL.

That and the extra money the owners want to take off the top.

It's hard to sympathise with already overfed pigs fighting at the same trough.

I don't even bother following this shitshow. I learned during the whole Revis thing that devoting time reading article after article and following stupid twitter feeds just ain't worth it.

    Fuck both sides.

Nothing is stopping the owners accepting the decertification and implementing whatever rules they want in accordance with the law. They are choosing not to do that.

    So ahh - here's the player's response.

That's just their bullet points, here's the link to the entire response.

Whoa, you mean Goodell is a lying piece of shit and is trying to twist the clusterfuck he created onto the players? What a shock!

I'm sure at least a few of the idiots against the players here will just say this letter is full of lies.

I don't mean to suggest I am sympathetic to the players, because I am not. But it is fair to say Goodell is a crappy commissioner.
