Who knows, if he looks really good in workouts, someone might sign him as a backup for the league minimum. I don't know what to think. I'd say he's in need of $$ and he has nowhere else to turn except football.
Unless the Bengals are trying to confuse Carson Palmer into thinking it's 2005 and he and Barber will run things from here on out!
well does he happen to have a team in place before filing the paperwork? Can't wait to see where he ends up...
the giants own him for the next two years. but his contract is for $4.1 mill per and a $500k roster bonus so he will be cut
janesports: Giants on Tiki: “We wish Tiki nothing but the best, and when we are able to make the transaction, we will release him from our R/R list.”
Not really sure this is about $$. Can't imagine anyone signing him for more than the league minimum, and that doesn't go too far. I think its more about this egomaniac just can't stand to be irrelevant ... kind of like Henry Hill at the end of Goodfellas.
Since leaving football, everything has gone downhill for this guy. I remember a piece that some local news station aired just as Tiki was leaving- it was all about the Tiki "Brand" and what they were going to do with it in advertising, media, motivational speaking etc. Slowly, the pieces broke away, he lost the "Today" show gig, lost his sideline reporting duties, cheated on the hot pregnant wife with some skank intern. The only work this guy's reportedly found as of late is writing a column for Yahoo Sports. No doubt that the wife and her attorneys have cleaned this guy out, and with no steady source of income he's going to back to the only thing he was really good at. Pathetic, isn't it?
Fuck him. I don't like the Giants, but Barber dissing Michael Strahan during his contract renegotiations and throwing Eli and Tom Coughlin under the bus almost immediately after retiring were bitch moves. If he does come back I hope this happens to him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92ifz2qqtm8
