I hate to make another one of these, but this is one that is actually plausible and would be worth getting incredibly excited about.

This guy was an absolute stud at UCF, is young, averaged close to 4 YPC behind Detroits putrid offensive line, and most importantly is a good recieving back.

If we decide to replace LT with someone this guy hands down should be our #1 choice.

And before any of the "We need to resign our own free agents" this guy would also come pretty cheaply

Only major downside i see with this guy is he wanted Miami to sign him.

Failing to extend a tender is different than cutting him. He can't be signed until a new CBA is reached and free agency begins. At that point, we WILL be focused on our own free agents first, so it's absolutely relevant to the discussion.

That quote was made well in advance of the reports two days ago that LT was returning.

Thought those were just rumors ?

I find it hard to believe the Jets want to pay LT 2.5 million to be the 2nd (or possibly 3rd) hb on the team, who is going to be minimally useful come playoffs. Especially when finding a hard time resigning guys like Holmes/Cromartie/Edwards.

I wouldnt hate the idea of LT being back so much if he took a vet min so he would have a better shot at a ring.

The Jets have very little money tied up at the RB position. LT is a great locker room leader and he knows the system. I highly doubt Kevin Smith is in the fold for the Jets.

They were reports from "league sources" two days ago. Take them for what they're worth.

Dude. You don't want the Jets to pay LT 2.5 million when we know he can contribute with his carries limited more than last year, but you wanted to pay Bob Sanders nearly as much when he'll likely be hurt in 2-3 games? This does not add up.

The story could have been leaked just to make sure that he's training per usual if there's a lockout, but I'm guessing they want him back. Run down as he was, I don't think many other people consider a 4.8 YPC average on 26 attempts and 3 total TDs "minimally useful" over those first two playoff games. With the growth of Greene and McKnight, I'm sure he'll be saved more next season and will be able to expand on that.

i dont think this can be said enough

    LT caught 52 passes

Greene is getting better but shit 52 passes thats around the same as Braylon and Santonio

the trick will be if McKnight can actually steal some carries out of rotation then were money at RB.

I love the idea of LT "coaching" up Greene and McKnight one more year before we replace him with a young body after this year.

plus I dont think enough can be said for losing Woody's leadership it will be nice to know LT is still in the locker room.
