So the lawyer says she's committed no crime, meaning it's not illegal for a 17 year old to have sex with an adult, or is it a crime for an adult to have sex with a 17 year old, but not for the seventeen year old? How did they get the pictures? My guess - the girl forwards the picture to friends, it gets sent around the web, somebody sends it to Deadspin. Deadspin emails one of the friends, the friend tells the 17 year old. Then she emails Deadspin and says yes I will talk, and then changes her mind.
From everything I've been able to gather (not much), she met him at a club, (the rest here is assumption: ) which means she has a fake ID, and she was probably lieing about her age.
This organization never has a dull moment. Man. Hopefully this story will wind up being... I don't even know. Hopefully it will be a non-story once things are clear. Also on the topic of Deadspin? They've been coming for the Jets like none other. You'd think someone with the Jets was out kicking their puppies on a daily basis or something.

If you read her lawyer's letter on Deadspin, she is denying that there was any kind of relationship. Much ado about nothing.
Can the heading of this thread be changed? On what basis was the girl "underage" if the age of consent in NJ is 17 and the girl was 17?
Mark's 24, right? And the girl is 17, and 17 is the legal of consent there? Oh, well... On that note. Regardless of what the deal is... I mean, it's legal. Deadspin's just looking to attempt to smear him then? Ugly. From all reports Mark seems so cautious about everything he does precisely for reasons like this. I know we don't know the story, or if there even is a story, but I'm inclined to feel bad for him having Deadspin attempting to smear his name, based on what's known at this moment.
Fun (unrelated) fact: In Italy we're trying to make our prime minister go to jail because he had sex with 2 17yr old girls... but he's 75!
