I would love not having to go to work/school the day after the game (luckily for me last year I got SB Monday off anyway due to the blizzard and was able to nurse my hangover).

Or the NFL, since there's a bye week, can just move the game to Saturday night so we with little self control can recover on Sunday. What do you think?

Would be nice but it'd never happen. I had this one professor in college that would schedule her first exam the day after Superbowl Sunday. Morning class. She did this for years and probably took delight in watching the guys in the class do miserably. Fucking Sadist Bitch

Is there some kind of sacred justification for keeping the Super Bowl on Sunday instead of moving it to Saturday evening?

Isn't that kind of early for an exam? My classes always started after MLK day which was what like 2 and a half weeks ago?

At any rate she obviously did just to spite you. She's probably divorced.

One of those classes where you have 3 or 4 exams in the term. I heard from other people she's been doing that for decades.

Making a national holiday for people too hungover after watching a game that ends before the 11 news even starts seems a bit much. But seriously, been saying this for years, it would be fucking awesome if they could just move it to saturday. No way it would hurt ratings in my opinion. The only good explanation I've heard for why it won't happen is because having the game on Sunday allows for corporate gatherings and such to maximize their parties and promotions for an entire week before the game. Moving up the game one day early means cutting down on that stuff.

Now in response I don't think it would be a big deal because with the two week gap I figure people would just fly in a day earlier and everything would be moved up. I just don't have much faith in the NFL to consider hungover cubicle slaves in their decision. Maybe if the 18 week thing works out though we might see the big game falling on President's Day weekend though, which would be awesome.

What is likely to happen at some point is they start the season 2 weeks later(or of we get the 18 game season) and the SB is the Sunday before Pres Day so we'd have the day off. I HATE moving the season any later than it already ends but it would be better to have the next day off.

Why? This time of the year is a fucking dead zone for sports. Extending the NFL a bit deeper into the void that is February sounds perfect for me.

My school was on the quarter system. Winter quarter started right after New Years and ended in March. Early February was midterm time for some classes.

I love college basketball and Feb is a great month for CBB w/ conf play. I hated when they moved opening weekend a week after Labor day and it would be even worse if they moved it to late September.

Yep. I guess that is a good trivia question at this point- Which SB was the first Feb SB and which SB was the last in Jan.

As a kid I remember being pissed when they permanently moved the Super Bowl to February. We always used to get off the last Monday in January for a teacher workday.

Even though that doesn't affect me now I'm still a little peeved about the game being in February.

Super Bowls 36 and 37 work for me. I see the number "36" and I immediately see the number "36."

    I see "XXXVI" and I don't immediately see "36".

It's bad enough the NFL insists on keeping up this Roman numeral garbage. Please don't follow the league here. Color outside the boxes, Ron Mexico. Be bold. To hell with Rome.
