http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/art...be-4db7-8340-cceb3ed4c6d2?module=HP_headlines FUCK! He was a very good S&C coach and because of all this moralist crap he had to re-sign... we lost a very good coach... look at the amount of injuries the Jets have had these past years (VERY few)... Good luck Sal, you'll be missed. Head strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi has resigned. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. “After speaking with Sal, he decided that it is best for him to tender his resignation at this time,” said Tannenbaum. “We appreciate all of Sal’s contributions during his tenure with the team. He played an invaluable role in our success and established what we feel is one of the better strength and conditioning programs in the NFL.” Named head strength and conditioning coach in 2007, Alosi ends his second stint with the Jets after serving as the team’s assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2002-05. He spent the 2006 season as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Atlanta Falcons. Alosi played college football at Hofstra from 1996-2000 and served as the school’s assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2001. “I’m thankful to have been a part of the New York Jets,” said Alosi. “I am especially grateful to Mr. Johnson, Mike Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan for allowing me the opportunity to be a head strength and conditioning coach in this league. I have many fond memories, including earning my first NFL job in 2002. After the events that have transpired, I feel it’s best for my family and me to look for a fresh start. I wish nothing but the best for the entire organization.”
I agree... Despite that asinine decision Alosi made....he certainly did his job well...the Jets' injury list was always few and far between under his watch.
Sucks that he lost his job but this really has no impact on the Jets. Someone else will be able to do the job.
That guy on New England who was seen tryin to do the same tripping manuver in that video should be resigning as well!
Well that's just not a given... hopefully we'll replace him with someone capable but you can't just assume whoever comes in will do a good job.
i am actually amazed at the apologists for this guy. its a shame for you guys to be apologizing for this guy. he did one of the dumbest things i have ever seen on a football field and he should be grateful the jets allowed him to resign.
I don't quite know the career path that leads to being a strength and conditioning coach for an NFL team but I do have to assume it is pretty high up the ladder. I think they will be able to find someone perfectly capable of doing all the jobs he did... whatever they have been.
I could give a fuck about one infraction when the Jets are barely injured under his rule. You simply keep him away from the sidelines. Stop being this choir boy morality sheep 24/7. People have done worse in football.
I don't think alleycat realized that the point of the internet is to be an asshole to anyone you want.
He may have done a good job, but there are plenty of other glorified personal trainers out there who will probably do just as good a job.
maybe, we should replace him with the Packers' strength and conditioning coach.....lord knows, he's doing a fantastic job over there. Alosi made a mistake....but despite that, the guy kept our players healthy during his tenure with the Jets....our injury list was minimal. Don't discredit his body of work because of a dumb decision he made.
Just because some of us would rather have him stay on as the S & C coach doesn't mean we agree with what he did. People make mistakes. He's not the first to do it, and he won't be the last. He's just the one that got caught. Dumb? Yes. Should we all shun him like we've never done or do anything wrong or immoral in our lives? I don't think so. Now's not the time to act all Dudley Do Right. I definitely can't throw stones..
Should be, but won't. The player for the Panthers should be cut, as well. Again, should be, but won't. The only one who will actually be significantly punished is Alosi.
Yes, he did a moronic thing, an appalling act of unsportsmanlike behavior. So did the guy for the Patriots. So did the player on the Panthers. All the attention has been at bashing one guy.
