It was a very tough road, we should be so lucky to be in the NFC.

Even as the 6 seed the Packers had -
    Vick and the Eagles
    Ryan and the Falcons
    Cutler's Pussy and the Bears

While we had to take out the QB's that are responsible for nearly every SB over the past 10 years.

For Christs sake, the Bears had to beat the 7-9 Seahawks to make it to the NFC Championship game. lol

I've never been prouder to be a Jet fan, Sanchez and Rex will bring at least 1 home for us.

If I went over the top, I apologize. It's just that "No right to criticize" comment really pissed me off.

To me, the only team that is above any criticism is the Superbowl Champion. Every other team is open to criticism.

I can't believe how much some of you guys read into what an emotional guy like Rex Ryan says after an emotional loss like that. Mind boggling.

Rex is right in the sense that the team accomplished a lot this season, and people should not consider this season a failure.

He is wrong in that the coaching failed in the 1st half last night, and Schotty was incompetent for much of the 4th quarter (and 1st half)..

You still haven't figured it out, have you? Please gain an understanding of what he said, because right now, you don't have a clue.

I honestly think our Coaches are amazing with what they have been able to do with our D. To blame Rex for our D is ridiculous. Look at the 180 it did between Mangini and Rex. Our players are just not elite enough to make it an elite D.

You can not blame Rex Ryan! He took the team Back to Back to the AFC CG in his first two year as a head coach with a rookie QB! I'm pretty sure next year we will be back because of Rex Ryan and Sanchez! Now, somebody has to wake up our O.C. if not then we should get a new one. I still can't get over that goal line play calling and the run in the middle play! Even the commentator said you have to do something different.

He's had to deal with a lot too.

Revis being in and out, losing Jenkins, losing Leonhard, and all the other players that were in and out of different games.

Rex doesn't get enough credit for coaching up any player that is in that spot.

Rex definitely deserves some blame, and there's certainly room for criticizing. The goal was the Super Bowl. We didn't reach it. We had a good season.

But there's certainly right to criticize.

    And guess what....

REX JUST SAID IN HIS PRESS CONFERENCE THAT THAT WAS A STUPID STATEMENT HE MADE IN THE MOMENT!

I wish he would think a little bit more before he spoke because I don't love that a lot of the things he says you can really just ignore because they're not grounded in reality. But I love Rex as our coach.

Is there right to criticize? Sure. We got beat up in the first half. Rex is a defensive coach whose defense got embarrassed in the first half and took us out of the game. Of course, there's room to criticize. It's a team effort, you can't say it's just the players. Sure, they didn't execute like they're supposed to. But maybe Rex could have coached them up better in the week. Or maybe Rex/Pettine could have called better plays. For one, on the 3rd and 6, we had no answer for the pass play. The personnel on the field was not suited for that situation.

I love Rex as our coach, and he will bring us a Super Bowl, but saying there's no right to criticize was a stupid statement. And he admitted it just now.

There is enough blame to go around, some for Rex and the coaches, most for the players. They looked a bit flat to start the game, missing tackles and getting smacked around - that is the players fault. However, some of the offensive play calls and defensive assignments were botched..that falls on the coaches and ultimately Rex.

Whatever though, this franchise is finally looking on the up-and-up with their best players under contract and a solid head coach that players want to play for. I want Rex as the coach of the NYJ for years to come!

    I love the coach.

Rex Ryan calls his own post-game remarks “ridiculous”

With a day to think about it, Jets coach Rex Ryan says people have every right to criticize his team for falling short of the Super Bowl.

“That was a ridiculous statement,” Ryan said in reference to his own remarks that people who criticize his Jets “have no right” to do so.

Ryan brought up his regret in a way to explain Santonio Holmes‘ salty post-game remarks. Ryan said the Jets would prefer players not operate that way, but he understood the emotion and rawness of post-game press conferences.

Ryan touched on a number of other topics during his press conference, all while wearing a Jets dog tag. “I’m proud to be a Jet,” Ryan said more than once.

    1. Ryan confirmed offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will be back with the team.

    2. With the “benefit of hindsight,” Ryan wishes the team just ran the ball four straight times in the goal line with Shonn Greene or LaDainian Tomlinson.

    3. Again and again, Ryan repeated that he couldn’t believe how his team played in the first half. “I’m at a loss for words for why we played that poorly,” Ryan said. “We were missing tackles all over the place. Our tackling was so poor it’s hard to imagine.”

    4. Ryan also couldn’t believe the defense couldn’t get a stop at the end of the game. He said Ben Roethlisberger made great plays on his two late completions and he lauded Pittsburgh’s “gutsy” playcalling.

    5. The impending lockout sounded like “scary times” to Ryan. He said he told the team to take care of each other in the event of a lockout and stay clean off the field.

“You represent yourself and this organization on and off the field,” Ryan said he told his players. “And I have to be mindful of that myself too, with my past history.”

Why? Because the person who made the statement agrees with me that it was a ridiculous thing to say?
