I was simply pointing out it is absurd to somehow demean Steelers fans because they support a winning organization.
Yup, like I thought, it took about 90 minutes for the folks at ESPN to begin talking about what a different, better person Roethlisberger because...well, his team won, that's about it. I guess if we had beaten the Steelers that would have been grounds to question his character. They also talked about how he persevered through his suspension and didn't complain. He actually did complain, and appealed and got the suspension reduced from 6 to four games. Also, what about the young women he allegedly assaulted? I would think that they persevered through a bit more.
The Jets gave this game away by not showing up. I dislike the Steelers fans because by and large they are a bunch of mongoloids and basically lucky to walk upright.
As absurd as it is for an organization and their fans to hold themselves up as some kind of paragon of virtue in the NFL, getting rid of "problem" players etc only then to turn around and support a multiple rapist?
The Steelers won the game. It sucks but they did. I love my team, I don't hate the other teams as its a waste of energy.
Read MY posts. I have nothing bad to say about your team or the officiating. I thought your post on OUR site was a little uncalled for. You won, enjoy it by all means, but keep your posts right. Know what I mean?
Everyone that covers the Steelers locally has noticed the change. He didn't have a lot of fans in Pittsburgh this past spring. He has even changed the way he has treated or interacted with his teammates.
Shouldn't you be out dragging your couch on to Atwood and lighting it on fire? Or do you live on East Carson?
If he has made positive changes in his life and in the way he interacts with people, good for him. Color me a bit skeptical about his "redemption", however. I would have liked to have seen how Pittsburgh and the media would have reacted to and covered him had the Steelers been 8-8 and missed the playoffs. I can't stand how the media equates performance on the field with character. Same thing with Michael Vick.
Yes SPOILED. I am talking about the "so called fans" who can't name your starting left guard or your punter. i would also say that most of your fanbase falls in this category.
Sorry I would say the same thing about Jets fans. Ask 100 women in NYC who the center and left guard are, and I am willing to bet you will get 99 incorrect answers. Hell I bet they couldn't even name anyone other than Sanchez.
I've never seen a city more enthralled with football that didn't know anything about the sport or it's own team quite like Pittsburgh. I'll give them credit too a point, they didn't run to other, popular teams like Boston did when the Patriots sucked. But most of the people I knew who were Steelers fans couldn't name 50% of the starters. Then again, that's probably the same with most teams/fans.
What do you know about our fans? We haven't won shit since I've been alive, and yet, most of the fans stick around. Mind you, when there's another team that's won 3 titles (the team my own father roots for) right in the same stadium. So, please, save me the fucking semantics. Act with class, there, sport. You're crowing on the opposing team's message board. Bravo!
LOL, dude, I feel your pain. At this rate, the Steelers will NEVER get rid of Bruce Arians and I've been wishing for that for 3 years now. Seriously guys, OUTSTANDING game! I knew the Steelers would blow the lead, so I was not shocked at all. The Jets came right back and caused heart attacks all around town. I look for the Jets to win the AFC East next year and being right back in the AFCG again, maybe against the Steelers, maybe not, but I have a feeling they'll be there. Good luck next year and congratulations an amazing season. You've got a helluva team!
