Basically we played 2 qtrs of football, which is too little too late. Yes Schottie made some hugely bad calls, but for me it was the D that let us down in the first half. We just could not contain Mendenhall. How many yards did he get in the first half??? We were not prepared for this game and IMHO the Pats game drained this team, we ran out of gas.
Putting the faith in a defense where the only standout player can basically be avoided for the entire game.
I think the pass on third down, then the 4th down run at the goal line that was stopped was the biggest mistake of the game. I really feel like if we run it twice there, we score a TD.
The OC is a moron. No wonder his father was fired. And our QB can only seem to ever play two quarters. It is never a complete game. That is where we went wrong. And we couldn't stop the run.
so many if's and but's...superbowl winning teams don't make the mistakes we made tonight...the biggest one of all not turning up in the first half
D didn't get warmed up until the 2nd half and Schotty's still the O coordinator. That's where we went wrong.
1) Pitt ran at will in the 1st half 2) The Pitt D TD near the end of the 1st half 3) 1st and goal from the 2 and nothing.
The D "warmed up" when Pittsburgh was basically in clock kill mode for the entire 2nd half due to their huge lead. When the game got to within a score the Steelers offense once again resumed marching right down the field. As maddening as the clock issues and some of the offensive play calls were the defense probably played their worst game of the year.
Jets scored 19 unanswered, can't blame schotty for the shitty first half defense. Yes he made some bad calls and ate up alot of clock, but the defense gave up too many fresh sets of downs. Mendenhall could not be stopped.
Our Defense failed us miserably. The Offense was ridiculously bad in the first half but still outplayed Pittsburgh for the game. We're cursed.
