The guys who have been in the league a long time and have not won the big one. Shaun Ellis - Will always be a Jet, the one link between Parcells and Rex. Has played in more playoff games then any Jet in history. LT - One of the most dynamic backs in NFL history, played on one of the biggest underachieving teams of the last decade. I expect him to have a big day maybe making the biggest offensive play of the season for us. Jason Taylor - Joined the darkside with a move nobody ever saw coming for this day. Has a chance to stick it to the Dolphins and all their fans and their joke of an FO. Tony Richardson - The ultimate class guy. A guy who I would love to have on any team of mine. Been in the league forever playing one of the hardest positions. Has taught Connor everything he knows even though he knows that Connor is going to take his spot next year. Brandon Moore - The silent assassin. You never hear his name called which means he's doing a good job. A guy who changed positions for the Jets to play the OL. Cotch - Not as old as the other guys but a long time Jet. Has made some big plays for this franchise over the years and is a team guy. The longest tenured of the Jets WR. Trevor Pryce - A mid season pickup that has the chance to make some plays today. Another guy we forget is there but he's there. Bart Scott - The inspirational and emotional leader of this team. The heart and soul of the defense and the guy who embodies what Rex Ryan football is all about. Jim Leonhard - The leader of our secondary who is still teaching and leading even though he can't play. Another guy who embodies what Rex Ryan football is all about. I think his impact will be seen today even without him on the field. Dennis Byrd- A man who has inspired many of us. The man who will be our captain today The man who taught me that any adversity in life can be overcome with faith, determination and hard work. A man who sacrificed so much for a child's game. Mike Westhoff - One of the best ST coaches in the league, has suffered through Herm and Mangini. Has an opportunity to make a difference today. The Fans - Those of us who have been addicted since September 15 , 1985 like myself and those who are still in their teens. Those who were alive in 1968/69 and those of us who were born in the 2000's like many of our children. Today is the day, I feel it. You feel it. This is our time. This is what we have waited all of our lives for. Today is for all of us. This is what we all hoped and prayed for when training camp started in August. For all the long and hard years. This is it guys. Let's enjoy it because it's going to be an incredible ride. J E T S Jets Jets Jets!!!!
Trevor Pryce was on the 98 Broncos team that broke our hearts in the AFC Championship game and went on to win their second of back to back superbowls . . . but great post.
Win It For.. My Late Father.he left this earth at the young age of 43. it was 11 days after my 20th birthday.he taught me everything i know about sports and who my favorite teams are. he took me to my first Jets game @ shea in 83 against these same Pittsburgh Steelers.the last game at shea. he took me to the marino obrien shootout.he allowed me and my friends to use his season tickets for the fake spike. his last years on earth were stuck watching Kotite. and now i follow in his footsteps.my sons follow in mine. now is our time. For our fathers our sons ourselves WIN IT FOR ALL OF US
Win it for my father, who suffered a stroke in July (and has been recovering since, thank God). We have watched every game together, and it's been a real emotional season to endure, under the circumstances. He was alive and able to watch SBIII, and he deserves another one to watch. We all deserve it.
Today he has a chance to unbreak all of our hearts and make things right. My father is still with us and he like yours took me to as many games as he could. He took me to that shootout. That was our bonding time. I will have my 3 year old with me. Hopefully in my arms and throwing him in the air as time runs out in that 4th quarter. We are watching it at a bar and we have never lost a game when I have had him at the bar with me. He told me earlier in the season that the Bears were his favorite team but last week when I asked him he said I don't like the Bears I love the Jets!!!
Win it for... Kyle Clifton Wayne Chrebet Al Toon Wesley Walker Brad Baxter Mo Lewis Johnny Hector Freeman McNeil Joe Klecko Mickey Shuler
There are so many guys I have grown up watching that I want this for. Joe Klecko, Al Toon, Richard Todd, Lance Mehl, Kyle Clifton, Wayne Chrebet, Laverneus Coles, Vinny T, Boomer, Mo Lewis , Marvin Jones, Curtis Martin. While none of them will be on the field today they will all be there with us. It's like Nightmare on Elm Street... all their souls will be released when we win this game. I will be watching this game in my Klecko jersey for good luck. I only bring it out in the most special of special games. I hadn't worn it in over a year until last week.
Win it for woody , tanny , and Rex who have made this turnaround possible and brought joy back to our lives as football fans. Win it for my dad who had to listen to superbowl III on armed forces radio. It's time he gets to see one with his own eyes
Win it for... My parents friend Tommy who was the Visa 2002 Jets Fan of the year. He passed away last year. He made me the loyal Jets fan I am. He has inspired many to become a Jets fan and he endured the worst and the best of times. I wear a patch with his initials on my jersey to remember him and thank him for making me a Jets fan.
"I want to win this for my dad" "Let's win for coach, who got us here" "Let's win this game for all the small schools that never had a chance to get here" "And David put his hand in the bag and took out a stone and slung it. And it struck the Philistine on the head and he fell to the ground. Amen." "I love you guys"
