He is just pointing out the obvious. We all know they are the Jersey Jets. We just keep the name for all the fragile egoed NYers who have a hard time with the reality of the situation.
The Nets are leaving a state where they are the only basketball team to come play second fiddle to the knicks. That's how bad jersey is. Thanks for holding our football stadium, you arm pit. J/K.
I love it when politicians pull this bullshit to boost their slumping approval ratings. STFU and go back to ruining the state. Actually, keep talking. Pittsburgh delenda est.
wrong. When this team started in the Polo Grounds, and all you New Yorkers were Giant Fans, Jersey people were here first
LMAO!!! In fairness, there are some nice parts. Delaware Water Gap. Jersey shore at least the not honky tonk parts. Ever been to Strathmere? Some parts of Hunterdon, Sussex and the area around Greenwood Lake are nice. It's mostly too crowded and ugly, though.
Again, the name New York in the title comes from the New York metro area, not New York state. The New York metro area includes parts of New York State, New Jersey and even Connecticut. If anything you can call them the East Rutherford Jets, if it means that much to you. Do they call them the Irvine Cowboys? The Orchard Park Bills? Isn't the Lions' stadium actually in Pontiac? There are others.
Can't stand the man. And Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island...come on man when it comes to urban grittiness NYC still has the whole country on lock. There are probably more housing projects in Brooklyn alone than the whole of NJ. If you're gonna get into city/state smack, come correct. Aside from certain parts of Hudson/Passaic/Essex counties and two very small cities in South Jersey, most of this state is suburban or rural. Get it right.
Lol...that would reinforce the fat, ugly American stereotype better than any fanny pack wearing tourist could ever do
I love when a Jersey representative brings this up around this time every other year or so. I wouldn't mind it. As someone who has always been in New Jersey, it's kind of a slap in the face to the state that they don't use the name, but it's the tradition of the team, and they're still close enough to the city that I don't see a problem. If there were a team actually playing in New York, it would make more sense, but NYC is the biggest city in the world, and East Rutherford and all that part of New Jersey is a suburb of NYC, so whatever.
