Forgive me if already posted Ike Taylor: I'll Lay Santonio Holmes Out By FanHouse Staff Ike Taylor apparently didn't get the memo that this week's matchup between the Steelers and Jets isn't personal. A week after the NFL warned teams that any trash talking before games would be considered when judging discipline for illegal hits, Taylor spoke about former Steeler teammate Santonio Holmes, who will be playing his former team for the second time this season. Though Taylor said he's still friends with Holmes, he said he is going to "try to be as disrespectful as possible" when the teams take the field, saying, "friendship doesn't enter into it then." "I'm not going to hesitate to lay him out," Taylor said. "No question at all. You know why? Because he ain't going to hesitate to crack on me if he gets a chance. George: Game Is Personal for Holmes, Whether He Admits it or Not Earlier in the week, Holmes downplayed the matchup. "I think the personal game is out the way. I got a chance to beat them the first time around," he said in reference to the 22-17 Jets win over the Steelers in Week 15. "This time it means everything for the team, for the organization ... I don't care about the Steelers right now. Those guys are in my team's way. We have one goal -- to win the Super Bowl." "Everything personal, will happen two, three weeks after," he continued. "If we win the Super Bowl, then everything is personal, that's a slap back in those guy's face for trading me. For right now, that's not even a focus of mine." http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2011/01/20/...mes-out/?icid=maing|main5|dl3|sec3_lnk3|37805
Just like Merriweather said Braylon wouldn't score on him? Braylon dragged him and his fag buddy McCourty into the end zone and they still didn't get him down.
He simply stated fact. If he gets a chance to "hit" Holmes he will, just like he expects Holmes to get him if he can. What's wrong with that? You can't bully the bullies in their own backyard. Rex realizes this why don't you guys?
yep...after he completely blows his coverage. that secondary is garbage aside from polamalu. mcfadden and taylor are average corners. gay is a horrible corner
reporters are so pissed that the Jets arent talking, they are taking anything that might be even remotely controversial and trying to turn it into the start of a war of words.
All Ryan has said all year is that he expects to win every week, and the goal is to win a superbowl. That has been considered trash talk by everyone in the NFL, so this is fair game.
I told them on twitter that Title is such BS, the dude loves Holmes and was just talking shop. Such a non-story, the media is sooo trying to get the Jets to start talking.
He's saying he has to play hard because he's expecting Santonio to play hard. Much ado about nothing.
I had to laugh when the couch ass said Ike needs to worry about being able to get within 5 feet of Holmes. CA hates Ike. lol
Ike Taylor has done a good job containing opposing number one receivers this year and throughout his career. I would argue he is definitely an above average eho can play lights out at times. McFadden has been solid this year...a massive upgrade over William Gay from last year. Ryan Clark had a huge game and is a big reason the Steelers beat the Ravens. Not the best secondary in the world, but not "garbage" like you are saying. I've seen Cromartie play like crap in all three Jets games I watched this year.
