My question about the Jets is whether they can play with the same intensity AND discipline that they played against New England. I think that may be harder to do then people here think. I don't remember any stupid penalties by the Jets on Sunday. I also don't think the Steelers offense is as potent as Steelers fans would like to think. Rothlesberger is certainly a big play maker but if the Jets can control him they have an excellent chance. Both teams will be kept in this game by their defenses. The big play or the big mistake will be the difference imo. Pretty obvious I guess but it's hard to see anything but a close game.
Has it calmed down yet in Masshole Nation? Any more morons want to release Brady from his nearly $20 million contract or BB? Just some of the calls I heard when driving home. lol Good Lord Pats fans are the worst, pretty much cleared out by the end of the 3rd coupled with booing. It was a joke.
I just can't figure out how anyone thinks this game won't be a dogfight. These are two very good, physical football teams and both want to win. If it's not a very close game going into the 4th quarter, I'll be very surprised.
All systems should be a Go for the steelers: 1. Scott and Adams are fine 2. McFadden and Allen will be limited early on but are expected to play 3. Aaron Smith will be fully practicing and should play 4. Troy will be limited early on as he has been for the majority of the season
I think this is an accuarate take on all counts. I like Rex harping on preparation, study, and getting over the AFC championship hump..that's the right tone this week
Of course not but people are very concerned that the Pats have lost their playoff mojo and have morphed into regular season wonders like the Indianapolis Colts. For someone that is supposed to be as cool as ice under pressure, he hasn't played well under pressure in the last 3 playoff games and people are "concerned". That said, he's still a great QB and I think he'll be fine. This season he was so intense and seemed to want to avenge the loss to the Giants and Ravens. I think he'll learn from this as well. I don't think it's that much of a surprise that fans are upset. How many Jets fans jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge after they got trounced Monday night? Hmmm? Brady will be ok and the team did a pretty damm good job for what was really a rebuilding year. It's hard to remember that now but it's true. Tons of draft picks, a very young and improving defense. Youth on the offense as well. It's just a shame that we have to wait until next year to get going again. They really did look like they were on a roll so the screeching stop to the Superbowl is just plain upsetting.
just give it man. you guys had your run. it's over now. it's about to be all sawx all the time up in mass. Pats are finished, East belongs to us. you guys haven't won a ring since the camera days. even Pats fans have to doubt the integrity of those championships ANYWAYS IF we had any other coach I be worried about an emotional letdown from the pats game. But not Rex ryan, you be damn sure that we will come with fire and passion this saturday. the fact is that our team is evenly matched with steelers. we don't need trickery to win, just play the jets way.
It's easy to say that but the Pats are actually in great shape. The Jets have certainly made their point about being a contender but they didn't win the AFC East did they? In fact it really wasn't even that close. Brady had an MVP year even if he came up short in the playoffs and there's no indication that he can't continue to play at a super-high level. Same for Bellichick. The foundation on both the offense and defense is there for the Patriots. it just needs another good draft and experience. The Jets will be there but I don't think the AFC East is the Jets to claim at all. Every year is different. He had them prepared Sunday but I do think there is a danger of something of a letdown. Would people here call Sunday the best game of the season by the Jets? You could. It's hard to stay at that level.
Your reference to Jet fans isn't really the same. For a franchise that has had won 3 SBs fairly recently I think losses like this weed out the bandwagon fans. Upset I get, but if we had loss I would not call for Rex or Mark's head. That is just retarded.
How about Harrison's shoulder that they might be hiding? And those OL guys I want playing, they suk. Mcfadden also,,, he better be playing.
i bet you would hear fools calling into Francesca's show screaming for that if we had lost. people lose perspective very easily. especially the ones that call and are vocal on sports radios
It is retarded. Are fans really saying that?? *wow* Success does attract bandwagon fans and that's what you are listening to. Must be a lot of fun to listen to huh? I AM jealous. Oh well wait until next year...
"Defensive end Aaron Smith, who has not practiced since tearing his triceps Oct. 24 in Miami, will return to practice this week for the Steelers, coach Mike Tomlin said today. "Aaron Smith is going to practice this week. We'll see where that practice takes us," Tomlin said. The coach said that even if Smith is deemed ready to go it would probably be on a limited basis in the AFC championship game Sunday against the Jets at Heinz Field. "Snap count is probably going to be part of that discussion," Tomlin said, but that "it would be nice to add that tool to the toolbox." Other than that, Tomlin said, "We're in great shape" as far as injured players. Those most seriously injured are special teams player Will Allen (knee sprain) and starting cornerback Bryant McFadden (abdominal strain). Tomlin said both players will be limited in practice this week. As for good news on players who had to leave the game Saturday against Baltimore, Tomlin said his two tackles, Jonathan Scott and Flozell Adams, are both okay and will be ready to go. Right from Tomlin's mouth.
When you did it took OT to beat them 19-16. What's your point? Nothing wrong with a confident fanbase, if any fanbase has earned that right it's us.
I would be concerned too. I'd be concerned that my "genius" head coach and "HOF" QB couldn't seem to adjust to a defense they didn't have film of previously at half time. I'd be concerned that maybe they can't do it without illegal video to study before hand. I'd be concerned that if they don't ever win another playoff game, which it's looking like a possibility, people will think even less of those 3 tainted rings than they do now. There's certainly plenty to be concerned with.
