I'm glad I started this thread. And yes, some of us are seasoned because we went throught this last year.

The Bears or the Packers fans will have a jump on us this year, but at least those are flights from the midwest and not as bad as, say, Eagles (or God Forbid Giants) fans clogging up the NE airports.

I had things lined up this way last year in order or priority and cost:

    1) Secure SB Tickets. Pull the trigger immediately after you know the game is in the bag.

    2) The plane reservation. I'll be trying to grab a flight, any flight, at the end of the game, unless you guys know of an airline that I can book and not get a cancellation fee.

    3) Hotel. This is the easiest of the three, IMO. It'd be nice to find a hotel with a bar and some parties going on, but in a pinch, I will sleep in a Red Roof Inn if I have to. Wouldn't it be cool for a bunch of us to get a block of rooms at the same place? Off the fucking charts...

Thanks for the advice from all contributors so far. I will check American Airlines out of Newark. Maybe they'll put on extra flights too... I'm sure they will if the Jets win in Pitts. They'll have to.

Last year I was on my computer in the 4th quarter, watching stuff like a hawk. It almost ruined the tail end of the game for me, but I was so excited I didn't mind.

Like I've told everyone in th epast, I watched SB III in my dad's family room in January, 1969 while I was on my Xmas leave from the US Army. I already had my orders for deployment to Vietnam and I left 4 days later out of Newark Airport. Spent the entire year as a Combat Advisor to the South Vietnamese Infantry and my entire tour was going out on seazrch and destry missions and night ambushes with them. Spent the year wondering if I would evey get back and be able to go to Jets games.

Well, that's what I've been doing since I got my own STs in 1985, so this is something I have to do regardless of cost. And my wife is onboard with this 100% too.

So, too bad about the "bad kharma." I said before, I don't believe in jinxes and fuck anyone who doesn't like me talking about making reservations and setting things up... I'm not going to let "kharm" stop me from doing that. The only thing that will put a stop to my plans will be a Jets loss, period.

Is it better to fly into Ft Worth? Maybe better to look for a room in Ft Worth? Can anyone bring up a map of where the stadium is so we can figure this out?

Let's make this the "go to" thread for all things Jets Superbowl! Contributors much appreciated!

We are booking flights to Austin, its a party town, getting a condo for 6 for 4 days and then driving to Dallas game day which is 3 hrs. away. Dallas is really spread out, not gonna be a good Super Bowl town. That's the plan, the execution is booking the flights tonight after a conference call, the rest will be dealt with after we win. The problem is the ticket $ for me. I am a UD so not counting on tickets from the Jets. Bears, 2nd biggest city, Pack, travels well. I am guessing $3000-$4000 would be the cheapest seat and those would be in row 20 NMS area. That's my humble opinion. I think face value is over 1k this year. Anyone have that info. Seems to go up every year

How are you guys booking flights already? Aren't you afraid you'll get hit with cancellation fees if the Jets lose?

Yeah that's right, but the 100K includes a ton of standing room tickets and lounge tickets where you can't even see the field. Right now there's no supply in the secondary market. Tickets are starting at about $2900 + 10% fees on stubhub (http://www.stubhub.com/super-bowl-tickets/super-bowl-xlv-2-6-2011-970314/) but that's with no inventory with only about 500 tickets listed right now. As soon as the lotteries are run and distributed, people will start flipping seats and prices will come down by at least a 1/3.

I booked a flight last year and cancelled. I still have those 3 tickets and I have

to use them by February 1st. Ticket $ is going to be the hardest. 3,000 is alot

for a ticket hopefully we can find something cheaper I heard face value for

Super Bowl tickets is a little over $ 1,000 this year or it might even be $ 1,000

    StubHub Caveats

    Important Information:

•Tickets for this event are currently available by Zone only. Zone Listings are for tickets where the seller promises to deliver tickets within a pre-defined seating area, even though they may not currently have those tickets in their possession. We allow Zone listings only by trusted sellers as a service to fans who want to secure Super Bowl tickets early.

•StubHub expects to have listings from sellers that include specific section/row information available for this event in mid-January 2011.

•All Super Bowl orders will be fulfilled via pickup at the StubHub Super Bowl pick-up location the weekend of the event (2/6/11). Buyers will receive exact seat location information at this time.

Please note that higher priced ticket listings within a specific Zone do not equate to a better seat location in that Zone. Prices are set at the discretion of each individual seller.

•Contact our Telesales department at 800-563-1690 if you have any questions, need guidance through the purchase process, or are interested in buying a suite. For more information on Zone tickets, please click on the Seating guide link located above our seat map.

Sounds like you can pay through the nose and then get there and realize you've been screwed pretty good.

StubHub is pretty reliable and I like the fact that they have a pickup location at the stadium, but I still won't buy non-specific seats. That's a sucker's bet.

I want to see the Section and Row before I plunk down the CC. I'm not paying $6,000 for 2 tickets only to have some asshole tell me I'm in Row 32 UD.

stubhub offers a free tailgate party at the ticket pickup location.all u can eat and soda.2 free beers.i did not do this b/c of the terrible miami transportation system.nothing runs like new york.way too slow.
the venue has lots of stuff setup outside of the stadium.

btw i heard the will be selling tickets to just watch the games from outside of te stadium on jumbotrons.jerry jones wants to break the attendance record of over 100,000 people.
