Was that win in the Patriots' home turf to knock them out of the playoffs and send the Jets to their second consecutive AFC Championship the best Jets win of your lifetime?

It has to be because I am 24 too...However, I hope it extends all the way till the end this year.

I hope it ends up being the 3rd best win, but as of now, yes.

It doesn't compare to '69. But I do think our upcoming win in Dallas will be the best of all. Better than '69 even, because I've had to wait all these years and support the team year after year with decades of unbelievably disappointing seasons.

To me the best win is still and will always be the Monday Night Miracle. But this was definitely great. If this had been the AFC Championship game, I may have called it the best.

The Miracle game was the most entertaining.

THIS WAS THE BEST JET GAME SINCE THE SUPER BOWL PERIOD.

I don't know about in my lifetime but as I'm a bit of a johnny-come-lately to this sport, it's certainly the best win of my time as a Jets fan.

It's has to be. I've been a fan since 1981, and knocking Miami out of the playoffs and getting during the Coslet years (if I am remembering correctly) was satisfying as was 88? when we kept the Giants out of the playoffs.

1982-83 - beating the Raiders and Bengals were also huge, as was the demolition of Indy 41-0.

But yes, this is the most satisfying win I have ever experienced.

Cowher? = "Jets have no chance"

Sharpe? = Brady will put up 60.

These guys get paid to make those predictions? CBS is not getting anywhere near its money's worth.

The most entertaining for me was the shootout against Marino in Miami but this was the best win I have ever seen.

Probably just edges out the Jets-Raiders game in January 1983. That was a NASTY game (Lyle Alzado throwing his helmet at Chris Ward; Theodore jawing with Freeman McNeil, Richard Todd getting slammed into the ground 3 or 4 times with what would today be a 15-yard penalty).

I was young but remember the Jets-Raiders game in '68 too. But I barely remember it -- and saw it on a 9" B&W TV.

You mean the 51-45 game at the Meadowlands, September '86 ??

    That's implied.

I'm looking forward next week to debating which win was bigger - beating the Pats or the Steelers.

Yeah, those of us too young for SBIII still recognize it as the 2nd biggest Jets victory. At 31, though, it's definitely the biggest in my life. It also emphasizes how little any of us can appreciate suffering through the entirety of those 42 years since.

14 years to our next AFC Championship Appearance
15 years after that to the next
    12 years to the next

And then back to back, and hopefully back to the Super Bowl.

Like I said in another thread, I missed out on '83. Had a long wait for 98, and having it end was horrible, but losing to one of the best teams of all time is expected, even how it happened.

Losing to Peyton after an improbably run last year hurt, but we were told we shouldn't make it that far.

Having the belief this season that we were capable of a SB run, that ass kicking we suffered in Week 13, and returning to oust Manning and then beat the Pats in their own house to return to the AFCC? Has to be the 2nd biggest game in Jets history and the biggest for most of us in our lifetimes.
