Kicking at Heinz Field is no walk in the park, we all know that. Folk needs to be practicing outside/in similar conditions all week long.
No shit I smell Doug Brien all over again and i'm scared. We can't let Pittsbugh come down to a kick, that's for damn sure.
No disrespect to the OP, but this thread should be covered in gasoline, lit on fire and thrown off a cliff.
I agree with this OP, Folk can't miss easy FGs like he has all year in the Championship game. Its gonna be too close.
If Folk misses a field goal in Heinz that's longer than 30 yards that's on Rex cuz he shouldn't even be attempting that.
So was his FG actually good against the Pats? I'm unclear on the rule and expected a lot of talk about it this morning, but it's being ignored by most media outlets.
I think it would have been way too close on a challenge to be reversed. I doubt there will be a definitive answer to this.
From what they were saying it looked as if it was good but as someone said It may have been to close to challange that early.
What bothers me is it was a chip FG.....mid-40's he should make but I could understand if he missed. But not from yesterday's distance ! He has GOTTA make that FG.....and remember, he ALMOST missed the GW FG against the Colts.
That was an inexcusable miss and that can't happen next week. I expect a low scoring game with lots of FG's.
The thread? Why not the OP. While he was lining up for the kick my daughter was watching the game with me, and I told her as soon as they put the Hex stat up.....Now he's going to miss it.
He made that FG yesterday, Rex should have challenged it. Folk got us this far, dont forget the pressure kicks he has made this year.
We should be trying out new kickers all week. This team is too good to let a shitty kicker prevent them from making the Super Bowl.
Westy will get Folk as prepared as possible. But I have no doubt that if we can upgrade the kicker position this offseason we will. But Steve Weatherford needs to step the fuck up, he needs to be our MVP next week.
