Thanks in advance for any information given. I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that both BB & Brady are praying for perfect elements. Partly cloudy, 65-75 degree, 3-6 mph winds. It's no secret that the Pats love to attack, by throwing the football through the air. Me? I hope to see these two teams take the field for a freezing cold, extremely windy, wet, ugly & overall; smash mouth type of battle. Nothing would be better than watching NE's home field advantage... Quickly turn into the Jets advantage due to our style of play. We're built for January football. It's no secret that Tom Brady is one of the top 5 greatest QB's of all time, but it's also no secret that the Jets rushing attack, led by our offensive line, has had one of; if not the best rushing attacks over the past two years. These types of games have always, & will always be won in the trenches. NE's two smaller backs in Green-Ellis & Woodhead aren't built for a smash mouth type of game. Shonn Greene is. L.T is an added bonus.
Why would they pray for 65-75? Cold weather doesn't seem to bother Brady. Sunday-high 34 degrees. Sunday night-17 degrees. Mostly cloudy. I hope Rex has them out in the cold all week for practice.
Have you ever seen the Pats play in the snow? Brady throws as nice a ball when it's 20 as if it's 70 and snow slows down the pass rush and its harder for CB's to react.
Everyone kept saying before the Chicago game that the bad weather was going to be the great equalizer and that it would slow the Pats offense down. That was another team the Patriots embarrassed. To be honest a lot of teams like to believe they'll out physical the Patriots and generally the Pats hold up pretty well. I just can't tell anymore whether the Jets will actually be able to do this or their bark is way worse then their bite. This should be a whale of a game.
There is more to the NE offense than just Brady himself. The last time I checked, Brady doesn't run the ball, run routes or catch his own passes. Brady is pretty much great no matter what, but that doesn't mean NE's offensive players are built for bad weather games; because their not. A frozen field or snow may slow down our pass rush, but NE players will also be affected. Don't sit here & tell me that players such as Welker, Green-Ellis & Woodhead don't rely on quickness; because they do. Also, it's hard enough to trust two rookies with zero playoff experience in Gronkowski & Hernandez. There is a such thing as playoff pressure. Trying to catch a cold football won't help the situation any. Every player drops passes to begin with. If you don't think bad weather conditons favor the Jets, you don't know much.
Dude they're 11-0 in the snow. Pray for perfect conditions. And if you want a weather update, search the web. I did it last week, it's going to be 30 and sunny
Our quick guys have the advantage....the WR knows what route he's running, his cuts may be slowed down in the snow but it is still better than the DB who has no idea where the WR is going and if they have to change direction quickly the snow can cause a lot of problems. BJGE is built for snow, he's a north-south runner who doesn't fumble.
snow is not good. only rain would help. the bears got crushed because of the snow and the bad field......why? Because brady doesn't lose any velocity and it affected their pass rush. i hope it's just normal game time temperatures no elements (unless it's rain)
Snow would be an udda disasta, although the last playoff game Tom Brady played in the snow he was pretty bad (Patriots still won). Doesn't matter tho, historically the Pats are money in the snow. Rain would favor us because of ground and pound
Sanchez would be hindered by terrible weather 100x worse than the Pats. No im not saying its because hes a warm weather QB or any of that crap, but look who youre comparing too. Hell remember the Pats vs Titans in that huge blizzard I think last season ? It was a fricken execution. Same thing vs Bears this year. The Pats seem to go nuts in the snow.
I'll take my chances against Brady & NE's offense during cold weather games, bad field conditions, & hard footballs over perfect elements any day of the week... & twice on Sundays. Just because Brady can deal with the cold weather, doesn't mean the cold won't bother some of his offensive weapons. I also like our rushing attack against that NE defense no matter the situation, but I'm not sure if NE's front 7 can contain our ground & pound during a cold weather game. Other than Wilfork, they have two career backups starting on the defensive line due to injuries. Not to mention a cold field will slow down those LB's at the point of attack. Why do you think Rex has been saying, since the start of last year, that THIS Jets team is built for football games during late December & January? He wasn't referring to games being played in Hawaii or Florida... Greene has a style of rushings thats built for this.
I think rain would cause problems holding onto the ball too (i.e. receivers) I'm not worried about the Patriots in the snow or cold though.
I'd pray for something like 70 degrees because it seems that the past 2 seasons we only beat them in September.. But yea, anything but snow.
Since 2001, which years did those 11 W's in the snow come from though? Thats the question. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling at least 75% of those W's came during the years of Bruschi, Vrabel, Seymour, Law, Harrison and C.Dillon being on the Patriots. Those guys were made for smash mouth football.
Considering snow isn't very often, its obviously over the past couple of years. Last two snow games in my memory - 36-7 against the Bears. 50+ points against the Titans. Why the hell would you want to play this team in the snow, or any bad conditions? I want a sunny day. If it starts to flake, I'll start worrying. I want it to be 90 degrees on sunday. Global warming get it done.
