2011, ANYBODY CAN BE BEAT! Jets upset Pats in a convincing fashion

2011, SHawks upset super bowl champs and Drew Brees
2011, Jets upset Indy (technically an upset since Indy was favored)
2010, Jets upset red hot Philip Rivers and the Chargers
2010, Ravens take their D to foxboro
2007, GPC, Giants hold Pats to 14 after averaging 37ppg in reg season
2003, Jets Shutout Peyton M. 41-0; Jets over Indy (technically, I'm not sure this was an upset however)
1999, Falcons over Vikings: "a million swarming white shirts" take out Randall Cunningham and Randy Moss
1991, Giants over Bills. Best statistical D in leage upsets best O (not won through D however, used the clock and long O drives)
    1987, Vikings upset Joe Montana
1984, Redskins (highest scorers till that point) crushed by Raiders
1969, Despite Namath's famous gaurantee, Jets were 18 point dogs to loser Colts

Anyone else have any others to add to the list.

Particularly interested in teams with seemingly unstoppable Os from the regular season.

IF you count SB's you have to include the Giants taking out the Pats.

If the underdog always won, upsets wouldn't be any fun

Two Super bowls come to mind

Redskins vs Raiders -- Redskins had set the most points ever in a season that year(since broken by Vikings then Pats) and were destroyed by the Raiders.

Bills vs Giants -- The Bills led the league in scoring by a nice margin and their 0 was pretty much though to be unstoppable (95 points in first 2 playoff games).

The Pats are so good this year that they have changed space and time and were officially never an underdog in the past and will never be an underdog in the future. Plus they had Brady! M-er F-ing Tom Brady. You just didn't know back then how high powered their O was.

    Not included on the list.

Winning at Indy was NOT an upset, it was more of an upset that we needed to win it on the last play. We have the better team and we should have won that game.

SB XXV was won b/c of the Giants OFFENSE not their defense. They held onto the ball for 40 minutes and even in just 19+ mins of possession Buffalo scored 19 pts.

The Giants did not stop the Bills offense w/ their defense, they slowed them down w/ their offense by controlling the clock which is something our O needs to do this week.

I actually started searching for articles about that gameplan this morning but got sidetracked. I think you're 100% correct that we need to take a page from Parcells on that one.

The Colts were only 10-6, and weren't exactly lighting it up either.

    I'll allow it since:
    a) its the Jets. We are pretty much always the underdogs
    b) Peyton
    c) It was a shutout

Peyton had never even won a playoff game to that point in his career, I believe we were favorites and rightfully so.
