This is certainly some type of dry humor... right?

fwiw: i think Rex is clearly the best Jets HC since Tuna - which is not saying much really, but its true. da rex bashas are outta dere minds. Its like Rex was born to coach the Jets and in a way he was.

Rex is one of only 3 coaches to get his team to the elite 8 of the NFL Playoffs, both this year and last.

How many have done it in their rookie/sophomore seasons of being a HC?

Not many, but i'm not sure - however Jim Caldwell is also a 2d yr HC and he has more wins then Rex does as well as an AFCC - but he's not playing this weekend. Rex is doing well - hopefully he shocks the world this weekend.

I love that fact that 80% of non-Jets fans are rooting for the Jets to lose each week. You have to be good to be hated.

He took over a SB winning team with a HOF QB.

Rex did amazing things with our D in very short order.

On one hand, I don't care what fans of other teams think, but ftr there are plenty of fans out there beside Jet fans who hate the Pats. Plenty. I would question that 80% figure, to say the least, at least this week. Very much so, not that it matters much.

    The hate is crazy though.

It's been a long time since I felt so much Giant fan hate. A lot of that comes from Rex' fantastic attitude rubbing off on what were crap fans before. lol

Sorry, I made a mistake.........Rex is actually only one of 2 coaches to lead his team to the elite 8 of the NFL Playoffs this year and last.

    Him and John Harbaugh.

I've been a Rex defender thick and thin. But I will hold him accountable in an angry way if we lose this game. I'll probably feel the same way if we win and then don't at the very least make it to the big one.

He did, after all, hype things up a little yesterday. Talk your shit, step up your game against Belli and Brady, and ultimately bring the, as champ says, VLT back to the NYJs..then you can call the doubters whatever you want.

Did you watch the press conference?

He was laughing during most of his comments, if they're just read they would be taken way out of context.

This is one of those games where most of the general public (minus Jets and Pats fans of course) would very much like a plane to crash onto the field eradicating both teams.

And John H. is the only coach to lead his team to the playoffs in his first 3 seasons.

Rex can match that next year. I think he will.

I don't even have an issue with that. When you generate as much hate as the Jets have this year you are doing something right.

I can't understand how a Jet fan can be displeased with Rex with what he's done with this team. I've gotten frustrated with some in-game decisions but he's brought success to JetNation and his team believes in him. I don't care what the media thinks of him. I like that we're a hated team, we've always been the underdog now it's time to get on top. Rex Ryan will lead us, and I'm fine with that.

Yesterdays comments about him vs. Belichick "it's personal" was taken a little out of proportion by a few networks making it seem like he's overlooking what the players are doing and making it all about himself. I disagree with that. If he wants to be a Champion here in NY he has to overcome the Patriots dynasty. He understands that his biggest rival is NE and his nemesis in Bill Belichick. I WANT him to take it personal. He has to take him head on, figuratively more than literally of course.

Caldwell didn't take over a SB winning team. I am not saying Caldwell didn't inherit a better team than Rex, just stating that Caldwell started w/the Colts when Rex started w/the Jets and so in that sense their respective job performances are easily comparable. Caldwell had an easier job than Rex and they are obviously 2 different types of coaches. But both have done a good job thus far as HC - w/Rex probably having done a better job.
